Question about Motorola Mobility V365 Cellular Phone

2 Answers

Motorola v365 My phone works great but when I close the phone, it is a flip phone, the screen goes blank. When I open the phone back up, the screen is black, although I can receive calls, and make them, if i can figure out how to dial without seeing anything on screen. If i turn the phone off, and then restart it, the phone screen sometimes comes on, and stays on as long as I don't close the phone. Otherwise, it sometimes just goes white..and I have to restart it again. Just started happening recently, haven't dropped it or gotten water on it. any suggestions would be appreciated. Cell Phone company wants god-awful amount to "send it away" and have it fixed.

I took my phone to UBI contact that can "fix" the problem, which was the flex cable where you open the phone. The only other thing is, it is a good idea to update the software for this phone, but you have to have the phone fixed to see all you have saved to the phone instead of the sim card to keep from losing them. I mean to say that you should download them either to the sim card or your pc before you update the software, and you have to be able to see them in order to do that. I think it is going to cost me $60/70 to have it fixed.

Ronninny & ruritania,
Hi this problem is actually due to the software problem of v365 and it occurs to many..luckily only few users dont face this problem in v365 so the Solution is may be you can approach a Motorola service centre and ask them to re-install the phones software or update it!..please take care to save your contacts and other files which you have in phone memory before that!..thank you!!..

Last night the screen for my Motorola V365 stopped coming on. I hear the usual musical tones when the phone is turned on or off, and the keys light up for a few seconds as usual, but the screen remains...

Hello,

there is nothing wrong with your screen, the problem is from the flex that connects your screen to the phone's main board. This flex must have worn out that's why your screen is not displaying any picture.

The problem is common with flip and slide phones. The flex gets worn out as a result of constant opening and close of the flip or slide phone.

I would urge you to replace the flex and I am assuring you that your screen will display picture again. You might also be lucky to find out that the flex is not well fix, that is, it may have loosed contact.

If you cannot change the flex yourself, maybe you should take the phone to a local repairer within your vicinity, so that the flex can be fixed/replaced.

Take care.

Hi,thanks for that. I tried that one, but it didn't work. It still had the same problem. I've now sent it out for repairs. Found it was still under warranty anyway. Thank you very much.

Motorola KRZR black screen

This URL explains that the blank screen is caused by a loose cable, includes instructions, and includes another URL that shows how to take the phone apart and re-seat the cable: http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/963501-1.html

I just fixed mine. The cable goes from the back of the phone (below the battery and SIM card) around the hinge and connects again on the flip-up part, under the screen. Re-seating at the main unit didn't fix it for me (dang), so I had to take off the cover on the flip-up part. Pretty hairy, but doable. You'll need TORX #5 and #6 screwdrivers.

I also saw where local repair shops will fix it for $75 (ouch), but that may be for a screen replacement--which is probably not needed. Opening and closing the phone is what causes the (tiny, flat) cable to need re-seating.
