Question about JVC GZ-HD3 HDD HD Camcorder - 60 GB USB Hard Drive

2 Answers

My the date and time will not reset on my JVC GZ-HD3U camcorder. After I go the the Clock Adjust and put in the right date and time and hit set it appears to be reset but it isn't. It keeps reverting back to the Jan 1, 2007 date.

I am confirming that it is a JVC GZ-HD3U 60 GB camcorder. Thanks very much for your help.

  • larrymartine Oct 14, 2010

Just checking to see if you got the model number.

  • larrymartine Oct 14, 2010

    Sorry that did not work.

  • larrymartine Oct 14, 2010

It asks you to change the month and then hit select, then date and then select and then time and select. After I do that it still and get out of that screen and then try to record it still flashes that date and time need to be set.

Does camcorder accept date and time change and show that when the process done?

If camera shows current time and date as far as it is getting power but returns to default time/date if power/ battery removed then it is problem of internal Lithium back-up battery that is located on main board. This Lithium battery has lost its charge to keep clock running in camcorder and need to be replaced. I do have service manual copy of this model and can provide you part number of required battery.
An experienced camera tech will replace it to fix the issue.

Yes, back-up lithium battery is dead, get it replaced by local camera repair shop to solve the issue.
Let me know if you need battery part number info.
    Thanks.

Free driver for gz-hd3u jvc camcorder

Hello
I've set that problem :
1/ Intall the JVC driver
2/ Import (not Capture) from JVC camera to G5 via the USB cable, you will have ".TOD" clips
3/ Convert ".TOD" to "Quick Time" with "Streamclip" software (free)
And you can edit with FCP
Best regards

New JVC Everio MG 130

Hi, to set the time or date, first press the MENU button (beside the DIRECT DVD button). Nudge the joystick to the left to select which settings you want to edit. Then go up until you reach the general options. Nudge the joystick right. Move the joystick up until you see "CLOCK ADJUST". Here you can set the correct time. The light is really easy to access. In the shooting mode (where you are seeing live video from the lense), nudge the joystick down. The light should come on. Nudge it down again to put it on Auto. It will turn on/off depending on the lighting. Nudge it down a third time to turn it off. Hope this helps!
