Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR2 V8 Cellular Phone

My Motorola Razr2 is still functioning, but the screen (interior and exterior) remains black. Is there anyway to fix this?

If your screen still lights up but is just blank you need to reconnect the ribbon cable. If you screen does nothing at all you need a new LCD display.

It will only take a few minutes but you do need a T5 torx screwdriver which can be found at a hardware store by itself or in a kit containing different sizes, you will also need a flat tool or a guitar pick.

Begin by touching something metal to ground any static electricity to avoid damaging any components (ideally you would use a grounding bracelet).

Remove the display window, it is held on by double sided tape (it's a good idea to have some for re-assembly in case you damage the factory tape) do this by starting at the space in the top and peeling the window away by pulling and sliding something (guitar pick) down the left and right side until it is removed being careful not to damage the display.

There is a silver frame held on by 4 screws, remove these with your T5 screwdriver and set aside. Then lift up the frame it may require some force being applied to the bottom of the hinge near the keys.

The cable in question is located in the middle, use your flat tool or guitar pick to gently lift straight up on the cable approaching from the bottom of the phone and it will pop off.

Note: If you are replacing the entire display you will now remove the display the same way you removed the window. Put the new display in place with double sided tape and proceed.

Reset the cable by checking for damaged pins and then pressing firmly into place. You are done and can begin assembling the phone.

If any of the double sided tape is damaged you will need to replace it, a trusted method for cutting the tape to shape is using something laminated to put the tape on and cutting it to shape with a razor blade.

you need a new LCD and the professional Tech to change it because It is very easy to damage the Flexible cable that adhesived to in -LCD and out - screen. Good luck

I have a motorola razr v2m, and both the outer screen and inner screen are blacked out. I can still make calls, if I know what number to put in, and I can still receive calls, but with out knowing who is...


Basically only your display is damaged/broke.So all your functions are working well.Please replace the display with the new one so that everything will be fine.

To replace please go to nearest motorola authorized service centre.They will replace the screen for you.

hi, it depends on the space on the phone memory..please note that when you click on copy, it means the contact will appear on the sim and phone all you need is to delete the one you do not want.

The front screen will not turn off after charging and some calls. I have to turn it off and on to reset it Motorola razr2 v9x

hello,if it's for some while that is how it is designed,but if it remains permanent,definitely that is how you made the light display setting to look,so all you need to do is just to adjust the display setting,but if the setting is kind of in order then it is most definitely a flex problem that will require you change the flex for it to work as normal as you wish.

Cracked screen

Take it to the cell phone provider. It may be worth it just to get a new one from the sound of this.
