IFF YOU HAVE CONNECTED X BOX TO AMP WITH PHONO CABLES CHECK THEY ARE NOT BROKEN ALONG THE LINE SOMEWERE.ALSO TRY HOOKING UP X BOX TO AMP WITH A OPTICAL CABLE AND SETTING X BOX OUT PUT TO 5.1 . IFF ALL THIS FAILS CHECK YOUR SPEAKER CABLES ARE NOT TOUCHING EACH OTHER OR EARTHING TO THE AMP OR OTHER METAL OBJECT.
HOPE THIS HELPS.

Linking up Plasma,PS3, and Receiver

If your tv and reciever have optical audio (square-ish hole with a red light), that would be the easiest way. Just get an optical audio cable and plug it into the optical out on the tv and into the optical in on the Sony.

Connecting up

Easy set up, Hook up all the components to the back of the TV normally and then use a stereo cable from the tv to your reciever.
Usually on the tv it says audio out or variable audio out, this will go straight to your reciever on one input allowing all devices on your tv to be hooked through your reciever on one cable and the sound will come from the tv and reciever at the same time or you can turn the audio off on the tv., you can also hook up any optical audio outs from your devices to your reciever as well. This will allow for surround sound to your reciever.
