SOURCE: water build up in dishwasher- clogged drain

I would not recomment putting chemicals in the dishwasher. There is usually some kind of filter in the bottomt at you can easily take out and clean. It's common to have parts of labels and plastic clog this up.

Try removing and cleaning this first. It may also be reached from a separate hatch in the fronc of your dishwasher, depending on the make and model. Just make sure it's securly back in place before you start it afterwards, or you may flood your kitchen.

You may also try to disconnect the hose and blow through it to see if you may be able to blow back any objects stuck there.

If none of this helps your problem may be in the pump, and then it's usually a job for professionals.

SOURCE: whirlpool dishwasher stopped working...

It sounds like the thermal fuse in the control console has blown.
Turn power off to unit.
Remove the outer door panel and then the console.
Remove the black plastic cover from over the circuit board if it has one.
You should see the thermal fuse clipped to the circuit board housing.
If you have an ohm meter, check for continuity across it, it should read closed.
If you don't have a meter, unplug the wires from it and and hook them together.
Turn power back on to unit, hold door switches down and cancel cycle. The washer should drain the water.
If this doesn't work, check your door switches to make sure they are closing properly.

The part is a cap for the drain pump. You can put it back into position by removing the filters and placing it to the left of where the circular filter would be positioned. The part goes in with the part numbers on the bottom facing down. When positioned it should not interfere with the threads for the circular filter. You may have to scoop out the water in the bottom, to have a better look at how it is positioned. It is always normal to have a little bit of water in the bottom filter area (below the silver screen filter).

Whirlpool dishwasher float 'assembly' model-DU810SWPQ2

Enter your model number into a site like partselect.com to get a parts diagram for your dishwasher so that you can see what the part looks like. The float just extends through the base to close a micro switch so the dishwasher shuts off the inlet water valve.

Hi.
Often there is a lot of grit in the water supply after a pipe has been repaired, and this may have clogged one or more of the valves in your line, or the gauze filter in the inlet port on your machine. I would first turn off the water to the machine and disconnect the flexible pipe at the inlet valve on the back of the machine. If the inlet filter is clogged, there is part of your problem. If it isn't, place the end of the inlet hose in a bucket and turn on the water supply a little bit to see if water comes out. If it doesn't flow freely, then it's likely another valve in the line is clogged.
I think the machine may have stopped because it is waiting for water to reach the required level. You could check this, I guess, by adding water from a jug and then closing the door.

Hope this helps you a bit. D.

Whirlpool Quiet Wash Plus Dishwasher is not despensing the detergent properly. After a wash cycle there is still some left.

My Whirlpool Quiet Wash plus dishwasher seems to have died. No power. None of the buttons work, it quiet mid-cycle. No breaker issue, my garbage disposal runs off same breaker and is working fine. Any ideas? I was thinking the comp. board that the buttons work off of is fried. If this is the case any idea how much to replace it? Would it be cheaper to buy a new dishwasher?
