How to take protect off a denon receaver

Hello. DC Protection is not something you can turn off. It is a protection system engaged by one of the microprocessors (computers) within your receiver. If any of the amplifiers are bad, and producing DC voltage at the output, the micro will immediately turn the unit off, to lesson further damage to the amplifier or speaker system. There can be other causes of why the unit's DC Protection relay is not engaging, but 90% of the issues, are related to amplifier damage.

Red power light blinking on my denon avr 1907, tried reset procedure, no speakers hooked up now and it still goes from green light to blinking red light and shuts off...Any clues?

This is a protection mode. The receiver protection circuit detects an internal problem like missing power supply voltage or blown channel and shuts down the receiver. You need to bring the unit to a repair facility.

Denon AVR589 shuts off. I removed all connections and plugged it back into the wall and powered it on. The same thing happened. I think the company told me it was going into protect mode. I have no idea...

One or more channels have a short in the audio output stage causing the protect mode to engage " saving it from further damage " this will require a professional or Denon service. I'am not aware if there are issues with this model.

What can i do to be able to take my denon dra685 out of protection mode??????

I just recently picked up a Denon DRA-685 receiver that was stuck in protection mode. I found a site online that suggested it was due to two bad resistors on the main circuit board. More specifically resistor R-105 and R-106. They are both 1 ohm x 1 watt resistors. I ordered these from a supplier on Amazon for a few dollars, and just snipped the old resistors off, leaving the soldered leads sticking out. I then thinned the new leads and soldered them to the protruding wires, so I didn't have to remove everything. The unit now works like new. I'm happy I spent the time doing this, and grateful to the tech who discovered the common problem with this unit. Hope this can help somebody else. H

In the past, I occasionally got no sound from my 4800. Then it would pop on after the unit had been switched on for a few minutes. This past weekend, the sound just wouldn't come on at all. I even tried...

Protection circuit (audio delay between the time you turn the unit on and actually hearing sound) is engaging because....check your speaker wiring for frays or poor connection at rear of Denon and at the individual speaker connections. If you don't find problems there you may have a noisy transistor or capacitor inside the Denon that is creating static and/or DC leakage which will keep the protection circuit from connecting the speakers to the amplifier. If it's the latter start looking for a repair shop or replacement.

Have a Denon 685 receiver. Purchased a Sony HD tuner (tuner only --$99). Hooked it up to phono input and it worked. After a while protection circuit clicked in. Used integrated tuner in unit. Worked longer...

if you disconnect speaker wire from rear and the problem is solved you will have a real problem in speaker wiring-you must fix it first or disconnect it from receiver and put new wires instead of.
