Key is flashing. Internet blue light is on. Printer gets signal for print job but won't print until I USB connect it to my Macbook OS 10.6.

Hi,

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue

The print queue and Dock printer icon
When you start a print job, you will see your printer icon appear in your Dock. Click the Printer icon to open the print queue, which is a list of print jobs that are printing, on hold, or paused. The print queue will also display messages sent from the printer.
You can alternatively open the print queue from the Print & Fax pane of System Preferences.

printer%20queue.png In the Print Queue toolbar you have these buttons:

  1. Delete - Deletes the selected print job.
  2. Hold / Resume - Will hold / resume the selected print job.
  3. Job Info - Shows details of the selected print job, such as job name, status, Completed, Job Message, and so forth.
  4. Pause / Resume Printer - To Pause / Resume the Print Queue.
  5. Supply Levels - Will drop down the Supply Levels sheet showing you the levels of ink / toner your printer has.
  6. Printer Setup - Lets you configure the printer's name and location details.
  7. Printer - Sets the Print Queue window into Printer mode.
  8. Scanner - Visible if you have a multi-function printer connected via USB. Click it to set the Print Queue into Scanner mode.
You can see what your print job looks like with Quick Look. Click the arrow on the print job just to the left of the Status column or select the print job and press the Spacebar.
From the Print Queue menu bar, the "Printer" menu has these additional options:
  1. Customize Toolbar... - Used to add and remove item from the Print Queue's toolbar.
  2. Make Default - Will set the printer pertaining to this Print Queue your default printer.
  3. Print Test Page - Will send the CUPS Printer Test Page to your printer.
  4. Network Diagnostics - Will bring up the Network Diagnostics application, used to check each layer of your network connection.
  5. Log & History - Used to open the Console application and show you the log entries for your current and past print jobs.
  6. Show Printer List - Will open the Print & Fax System Preference showing you the list of Print Queues.
From the Print Queue menu bar, the "Jobs" menu has these additional options:

Try using the HP Print Diagnostic Utility in Windows - HP Customer Care (United States - English).

How do i get printer working

Hi,

Are you able to print test page from Printer ?
This will help us diagnose and isolate the issue further
To print self test page ( Demo page ), do these steps below

Press the right arrow button simultaneously. It should start printing the demo page.
If this works fine, this could possibly be an issue related to print jobs stuck in queue.

To clear print job stuck in Queue
Click on Start button
Click on Control panel
Click on Printers and Faxes
Check for HP Laserjet Printer icon
Right click on the printer icon and Click Cancel all documents
Once you have done the above step, disconnect the printer from PC ( if using usb ) or turn printer off

Restart your PC/laptop
Check under printers and faxes folder if the Printer status shows Ready and 0
You are ready to print

I have a Epson TM-U220 Printer. The status reads: Not Available. If I print a test page it goes to the que but does not print.

If you can browse your printer, then try to delete the printer queue and re-add it. You do this from your Mac's System Preferences, Print and Fax application.

The C6180 is connected through a wired network. Funny thing is that I can print a test page....but when I go to print the document never leaves the print queue.

I get the following message from the print queue....the retry goes from 5 seconds to 10 seconds through 30 seconds but stops at 30 seconds.

you could try to get into your system setup to check whether USB ports are disabled by default (you will probably see during system startup a brief message saying something like "Press F2 to run system setup", or perhaps some other key like F1, ESC, etc.) When you see your docs in the print queue, do you see some error/warning message associated to that job? You could make right button click on that job and see its properties. You could check whether you should restart that job or whatever else option you may find there.
As for the installation CD, you could investigate on that disk to see whether there exists a file with whatever name ended in ".PPD" (without quotes). You could use that file: in System => Admin => Printers, see the properties of the corresponding printer and then use the option "Change driver". You will be asked for your printer model or provide a .PPD file. Use the one you found in your installation CD.

Hp 1350v all-in-one printer won't print

if you have a print job stuck go in and hit cancel job. If it stays even after a few min right click "my computer" on your desktop and hit "manage" go to "services and applications" click "services" find the print spooler option and right click it and stop the service. Once stoped right click it again and start it. This should clear anything stuck in print queue trying to delete
