Question about Remington Health & Beauty

10 Answers

I've got a vintage near mint Remington 300 DeLuxe Electric Razor made in France at the beginning of the 60s. But I do not have the corresponding Owner's Manual. My main problem is that i don't know how to clean the device and how to substitute the blades with the spare ones which come wrapped in plastic in the box. I'd appreciate it immensely the chance to get either a reproduction of the manual or the instructions needed to clean and change the blades of this shaver. Thank you very much.

    Hi,

Thank you very much, but I'm afraid that there is a confusion.

When I mention the Remington 300 I mean the quite old one, sold at the beginning of the 60s, and not the recent titanium model.

Actually, I think that that model was known also as The Remington Selectric 300 DeLuxe.

    Could you, please, check that?

    Thanks a lot

    Best regards.

    Hi,
Thank you for your kind answer.
Unfortunately, there's a problem: my device is not the modern one for which you sent instructions, but THE OLD ONE (sold at the beginning of the 60s) MODEL REMINGTON SELECTRIC 300 DELUXE. As you can see, it's a VINTAGE electric razor, discontinued years ago.
Please, could you possibly track and check it?
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards.

    Hi,
I've got AN OLD (sold at the beginning of the 60s) MODEL REMINGTON SELECTRIC 300 DELUXE (discontinued many years ago, and not to be confused with the modern titanium device). It's a VINTAGE electric razor, whose MANUAL I do not have, and which I'd like to get.
Actually, my main problem is that I don't know how to CLEAN&LUBRICATE the device, and especially HOW TO REPLACE THE BLADES, included (in a plastic little envelope) in the Remington's original box.
In fact, I suppose that these are spare blades, but as far as I know they can also be some kind of attachment for the shaving head.
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards.

  • xgv6 Oct 15, 2010

The manual I'm looking for is the corresponding to the VINTAGE REMINGTON SELECTRIC DELUXE Electric Shaver Made in France at the beginning of the 60s ? not to be confused with the modern titanium 300 model.
I've already checked manualsonline. com, with no success.
The main point is that I don't know how to CLEAN&LUBRICATE the device, and HOW TO REPLACE ITS BLADES.
    Thank you very much.

    Thank you very much.
There's a problem: the Manual I'm looking for is the corresponding to the VINTAGE Remington Selectric 300 DeLuxe (which I can't find on manualsonline.com) - not to the CURRENT 300 Titanium Model.
Please, could you possibly check that?
    Best regards.

Unfortunately not. There's a confusion between a recent model and an OLDER ONE (which I'm looking for) whose name is: REMINGTON SELECTRIC 300 DELUXE.
Please, could yo possibly try to find that one?
    Thanks a lot.

Hello there

Press in on both sides of the foil screen to engage the release tabs.

Pull up to remove the foil screen.

Press in the release tabs on each side of the blade assembly. The blade assembly will release from its locked position.

Lift the blade assembly to remove it.

Press the new blade assembly into place. Push straight down and slide gently until the plastic portion of the cutter assembly falls into place on the oscillator tip.

Replace the foil screen, pressing gently until it snaps into place.

Please check for any special instructions on the replacement blades package.

Hi,

Unfortunately, as this model is quite old - there is no user manual available online with any of the major vendors. At this moment, the best option is to contact Remington and request the manual directly from there. I have many clients who are successful in getting old manual following this suggestion. Few manufacturers would send you the manual via email in .pdf format as an attachment, however few would mail you the manual. If they mail you the manual, you might need to pay $5 - $10.

The contact information for them is :-

http://www.remingtonproducts.com/en/ConsumerService/ContactUs.aspx

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Well, the chances of someone having the original instructions are a tad steep, but you may happen to run across one at an estate sale.
My suggestion would be to take it to the most elderly barber you can find. They have had the most experience with quality razors, and may have used one of these and know about them.
I'm not sure if Remington Support would be able to help you, but here is their site:
http://www.remingtonproducts.com/en/ConsumerService/ContactUs.aspx
Razors can use screws, buttons or ridge pressure contacts, and levers to release the blades, but they are always exact and secure, so it takes some studying them without having the luxury of the manual.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Opening a remmington ms2 150 or ms2 300 razor to replace the batteries

You will find the correct battery type at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

    http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-replacement-parts/replacement-battery-for-remington-df-ms2-some-braun-p-213.html

To open the shaver you will need to gently pry off the rubberized grip on the front of the shaver. You can then access and remove two screws near the bottom. You will also need to loosen the flat metal clip plate at the top that is under the cutters. Once this is done, you can open the shaver and access the batteries

Hi, I had this same problem and did some research. In the beginning I was told it HAD to be sent back to Remington for the service. As with all electronics, I end up fixing them myself. I bought the replacement batteries from electricshaverstore.com for $15.00 and now it works great. Good Luck and I hope this helps!
