Question about Kodak EasyShare C340 Digital Camera

New camera won't work!

Although I received this camera for Christmas 2006, I'm just now trying to use it. The message I receive is "No pictures to display on the internal memory" when I REVIEW. I replaced the batteries with new ones - didn't help. It has the SunDisk card that came with the camera and I'm sure it isn't full since the camera has never been used. This camera must have no internal memory or the card that came with the camera is defective. Do I have a setting wrong? Help!

That message is probably because you have not saved any images in the camera's internal memory. Whatever pictures you took are on the SD card. Try taking a couple of pics using the SD card and try the review. If you are able to review, then all is well. If you cannot review, then one of 2 things:
1. Faulty SD card..Replace or format it.
2. Remove the SD card and take a pic. The pic will be saved in the camera's internal memory. If you still cant preview, probably a fault with the camera, and you'll need to service it.

I received the camera as a Christmas gift, but my laptop refuses to take info off disc to download so I can download pictures into my computer. What could be the issue here?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My wife and I bought Panasonic DMC TZ5 for Christmas. When we try to download pics, we receive message USB port not recognized. We have tried another USB lead but still same problem, Is there anybody who...

Turn off CPU, Unplug Power cable, And all usb devices, let it sit for about 20mins. Plug it all back in. Turn on the CPU! Also make sure if your device requires "DRIVERS" or if you have a CD download and install that before anything.

Memory card

Try to check the Memory card if it is compatible with your new camera. To know this you need to read the owners manual and try to check the directions on putting your memory card. Your memory card must be check also from a computer if it is still functional. If you have files like old pictures try to save to that card. if the save files are opened then your memory card is working. But if is not then your card needs to be reformat. if it cannot be formatted thats the end of its life. You need to have a new one.

Please reply if it works or not. To give you more advices.

Pictures cannot be download

When you try to transfer a large number of files (or a single large file) from a PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) device, such as a Sony Memory Stick, you may receive an error message saying that your computer cannot detect your camera or that, although it has detected the camera, the current picture cannot be copied. This happens because in older versions of WinXP the PTP driver limits file transfer to 2,048 files at one time and those files must be less than 210MB. If you update WinXP with Microsoft's latest service pack you should eliminate the problem.

I can't speak for the camera, but I would suggest a card reader to get your photos.
