Question about Frigidaire FEQ332E Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Hi, my FEQ332ES0 stopped starting up (after a day of no use), and it makes a faint buzz when I hit the start switch. The tumbler light works, and I OHM'd out the thermal limiter and it looks fine. Any ideas where to probe next?

I did the test today that I have read on other posts here, where you give the drum a jump start manually while holding the door switch closed. It worked. Wifey was able to get it to start at least 2 more times by itself after that.

Egine turns over, battery is good but the is no starting

could be starter possibly or ignition switch or key and tumbler or fuel pump there is so many possiblities, turn the key over and listen for the buzzing from the pump. if it has that then the fuel pump is working. you can hold the key in crank and see if it starts that would suggest key and tumbler or ignition switch.. if it is a standard you can try bomb starting it to see if it starts. if it does that means possibly starter

1995 Mercedes S 320 won't start. battery is fine

I know on the L.H. (previous fuel injection system) models there was a module called a base module that worked as a big overvoltage relay and powered up all the control units for the engine and drivetrain, they had 4 to 6 10amp. fuses in the top and theywould blow fuses and sometimes fail themselves causing no start conditions. I beleive yours is an H.F.M. system. I used to do roadside and i'm also a mercedes benz tech. The first thing I would try would be to put the car in nuetral and see if it starts. the nuetral safety switches of that era are problomatic. next I would check my brake light fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. That fuse also powers the starter relay-even though it doesn't state that on the fuse schematic. Also to answer your question about a lockout relay-yes there is but they rarely cause a problem. I hope I have been helpful

My dryer makes a buzzing noise when I push the start button

My Hotpoint dryer is seven years old and did the exact same thing. When I got over the anger and the thought of spending 4 or 5 hundred dollars to replace it I started messing with it. I finally decided that since it buzzed when I tried to start it there was current there. The only other thing it could be was the drying cycle knob.
I held the start knob and let it buzz while I slowly turned the dryer cycle knob to the right. As I turned through each cycle it would hit "off" and the buzzing would stop and then resume as I moved past the "off " setting. On the third trip around the dryer "started" and has been working since. Maybe something got out of kilter. Apparently the problem was in the knob that controls the drying cycles.

Amana gas dryer wont start. just makes a faint buzzing noise

The drive motor starting capacitor is likely dead. This can be tested if you are competent enough to take the thing apart and use an electronic multimeter. Otherwise it is a cheap part to replace, depending on how much the repair guy charges for labor and to be called out.

Dryer, gas model #ddgg57806clad stopped working after it finished the first load of the day. It doesn't feel like it's totally connected. The timer clicks, but it doesn't feel like there's power going to...

Hi, I'm posting my own solution to my problem. Thank you fixya and the many people who had a similar problem who sent in solutions to others on this site.
The door switch to the dryer was hitting a worn out area of the gasket surrounding the door and prevented a connection to the tumbler. After manually checking the tumbler to make sure it wasn't stuck, I temporarily put a piece of masking tape over the switch with the door open. Then I turned the timer knob on while the door was open to see if the dryer started and voila! it started. Hope this solution helps someone else. Iris

Dryer work turn on, buzzes when start is pushed

It may be just your timer switch. Look at all the wiring first. The receptacle to the plug, cord and into the back of the dryer.

Freezer works fine...refrigerator section

Have you noticed more frost in the freezer than usual? It sounds like you may have moisture building up and freezing around evaporator fan. The fan blade hitting ice will cause the buzzing until it stops it completely or the evaporator clogs with frost and blocks airflow. If you have frost on food in freezer, check the door seals and make sure nothing is keeping doors from closing completely if you release them about 6" from cabinet.
