My Brother MFC8860DN has an error message that says "Replace Laser." How do I replace it?

When you will replace the brother unit then you will need to reset the brother dcp7030 laser printer.
Follow these steps for reset the brother printer.

• Press the "X" keys to drum the error message.
• Select the setting.
• Press the All setting.
• Now press the Machine info.
• Press parts life.
• Press the # key until the display message on the machine changes.
• Press the color that you want replace.
• Select on Yes.
• Now, press the Home button for reset the process.

Print Unable 71 means Polygon Mirror Failure on the Brother HL-4040, MFC-9840 and MFC-9440.
Pretty safe to say it means the same thing on the MFC-8880.

The Polygon Mirror is part of the Laser Unit, and its rpm isn't within specs.
The Laser Unit must be replaced.

replace the paper feed kit. message comes on after a # of copies.

Some Brother laser printers have separate consumables - the toner cartridge and the drum unit. From time to time you may need to replace only the drum unit and not the toner cartridge.

The error LED lights up, or an error message shows on a flat screen panel, when the drum unit is near the end of its working life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one.

Simply open the front cover.

Press the Options key on the control panel.
The display will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO".

Press 1 to reset the drum count.

Close the front cover.

This procedure wil work on the majority of the Brother MFC series of laser based Printer Scanner Fax Facsimile machines.

replace both drum and toner .

-open front cover
-press 'Option' button
-then key *00 on the keypad
-close front cover

7C indicates a Engine PCB error.

PCB=Printed Circuit Board.

This is a service error and will need a technician to replace / repair the PCB.

you need to replace the drumkit, or have it replaced.

Open the door where the toner goes. Press the 'back' button. Press *00. Do not respond to the query about the drum. Close the door. Other models may have to press the 'Options' button located near 'Copy'. This should work.
