Question about Viper (VGC421) Remote Control

Open Question

We are an auto body shop. We disconnected the battery ( for about 3 days) while we did some welding on the car. Now with the battery hooked back up, alarm keeps going off and car will not start. The owner has changed the battery and never had a problem with it when he connected new battery. This is a CPLMMRS 103-0313 . Is it because it had no power to it for 3 days? How do we reset this?

SOURCE: Replaced the battery in my car need to reset my viper alarm

Alarms are not supposed to shut down the engine while you are driving if it was installed properly. Could be another installed accessory or the car itself has a problem. If it was in anti-hijack mode, you would receive a warning like honking horn. You may have to visit a repair shop and maybe your local Viper dealer to have them take a look. DC

SOURCE: disable viper alarm

Yes the best way is disarm the alarm and put in a Valet Mode
To activate the Valet Mode do the following:

There is a push button or toggle switch to disable the alarm (to engage the valet mode). Without knowing where this
switch is you won't be able to disconnect the alarm.

1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position.
2. Flip the toggle or hold the push button for at least 5 seconds.
3. The LED. light will stay solid on.
4. Turn the ignition off
5. Release the push button. If you have a toggle leave it alone in step 2

How Do I Get The Airbag Lights To Go Off On A 2006 Town&country After I Replaced The Battery

I have always had to use a scan-tool to do it. My Genisis system will clear some vehicles, unfortunately the others had to make a trip to the dealer for a reset. In my shop, we have the battery disconnected for days sometimes while we weld in new body panels. When we hook everything back up, we have had SRS lights that simply would not reset on their own. Its not uncommon to see that happen.

My 2005 trailblazer cuts off when in gear when the defrost/ac is turned on. Just had a brand new transmission put in the day before this started. Would that have ANYTHING to do with this happening? What...

VERY easy fix, and a VERY common problem. When they put the new tranny in they had to unhook the battery. When the battery is hooked back up, computer thinks everything is clean and adjusted well. Problem is, your throttle body is dirty, so the computer isn't adjusting for fuel correctly because it thinks it's clean. Rip that throttle body off with the battery disconnected, it's only 4 bolts and disconnect the wires. Clean with Seafoam or throttle body/sensor safe cleaner using towel or toothbrush. Do NOT use wire brush, will mar the aluminum. After everything is clean, put back together and hook the battery back up. With all HVAC OFF, drive around for 15 minutes or so, so the computer can relearn all correct settings. Problem solved, should clean the TB on a regular basis. By the way YES you can reuse the hard plastic gasket on the TB. $7 fix if you do it yourself. Good luck!

Is a cracked reverse osmosis RO pressure tank safe to use as is, can it be repaired, or should I get a new one?

If it is plastic you can weld it or have someone do that. Body shops, auto body shops usually have this ability. I weld my own plastic with a tool from urethane company. Do a search for plastic weld tool. A
Decent kit is around $300 and fixes a lot of stuff.

1997 Toyota RAV4 lights

if body panels were replaced then they may have pinced a wire somewhere or in the welding process(if used) they could have burned off insulation(plastic coating) from the harness somewhere..take it back to the body shop.. make them enforce your warranty on the labor and fix it at no cost to you..let them show you where the welded and look over their shoulder at the supposed work they did..remember this is your car and you are entitled to see proof of the job done...dont care what their insurance says about customers in the actual garage area...a decent body shop would stand behind their work..if not file a complaint with the BBB and take the car into another shop, sending the bill to the first shop..I would be all up in their face about it...

Weld on left leg broke. How do i get a new one?

hello j ing...... If your trainer is less than one year old contact the place where you bought it. It should still be under warranty. IF not, your best bet is to have that break welded at a local welding shop or auto body shop. Look in the phone book and call around to see who will weld it for you and how much it will cost. Generally, a repair like this will cost between $20 and $40.

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Engine check lite is on after body shop repairs

Has it had welding done? if so it might need the E.C.U. fault codes downloaded & any faults rectified.
Take it back to the bodyshop they should have fixed it before you had the car back.

Battery keeps dieing..jump start and runs for a few days and dies

Humm ...Didn't die before the accident? now dies? BMW has good mechanics, but could not find any problem???. I gota think that it is related to the rear ending, but how? I would look for loose connections, Battery Ground that might have been removed before welding.Battery terminals, Any primary connections that may not be making 100% contact . It's worth a try.Good Luck

1995 Cherokee Country driver's side door weld breaks, also ALB

Weld broke twice likely because job wasn't done well. Shop didn't reenforce post when making repair. I also recommend painting over weld to cover any newly exposed metal after repaired. Don't know of any can check nat highway traffic safety board. Sounds like your brakes would work better with abs disconnected (we all drove with no abs for how many years??) I'd do this 'till I found a good cure. On the hose thing... Pull the hose back into the cavity on both door and body. Splice with a longer piece than you need and leave the spliced ends inside the cavities, not in the "flex" area between the door & body. Good luck!

Mig problem

For certain type of work TIG is required, like welding chrome moly for some racing organizations. Intricate work, like gunsmithing is also well suited to TIG. TIG is used by many auto restorers who prefer a more precise, perfect finish that requires little to no finish work. TIG is most similar to gas welding in technique, so if you've done oxy-fuel welding, TIG should be a natural transition. MIG is required by law and by insurance companies in many localities for structural repair of automotive frames. MIG is also much easier to learn and faster to weld. For doing other types of welding, like sheet metal, it can be a matter of personal preference. For an auto body repair shop or a novice welder, a MIG is a good, practical all-around welder.
