Question about Mitsubishi Televison & Video

1 Answer

When I turn on my 65" the message displayed reads the air flow is blocked and the tv will shut down which it does. I've vacumed & cleared all openings. I have to reset the tv about (5) times before the message won't come up and it runs fine until the next time I turn it on. What is the cause?

I get a message that the air flow/fan is blocked, then the tv shuts down. It's not blocked. It's perfectly clean.

This indicates the TV is overheating. Lamp based TVs usually have two or even three fans. One may be having problems or not turning fast enough.

"air flow blocked" means its getting too hot. or it thinks it is. it is quit common on these set that the thermal sensor has malfunction replaceing this sensor is your solution. since this is service bulliteen item at service centers of mitsubidshi products this may be an item covered under warrenty. so i would first check with you local service shop too see before

Error Message

If the set is only 3 1/2 months old, you should still have warranty coverage. Opening up the unit will void the warranty, so don't open up the set. Call for warranty service. In all probability, the air flow sensor is defective. The message you are seeing is a result of the air flow not being detected or not sufficient. In any case, this is a covered problem and should cost you nothing to fix.

Mitsubushi 1080 HDTV has an air flow block

There is a fan in the back. Make sure that the fan is spinning and that the grille is clean. It is possible that the sensor is bad too.

have you cleaned the air filter located on the side of the set? If that doesnt work the thermal sensor will need replacing.
