I advice you to go to a big apple store.. it's quite likely that they'll be able to fix it right away, for free most of the times if you still have warranty.

Ipod touch will not charge, brand new

Try charging from usb or docking station, if it works than your charger is broken, if doesn't i would return product to shop as its probably broken socket or something wrong with software. Anyway usually it's just a charger and than as it's new phone i would go back to shop and ask to swap for working one :) Sometimes if battery is dead it may take few seconds or even minutes till your screen turns on so after plugin in wait a while.

Hope it help

How to fix a 8gb i touch that has a cracked screen

Go on e-bay and buy a screen kit that includes the tools. They are fairly cheap. Then go on You Tube and watch the 100s of repair videos people have on replacing ipod screens until your eyes dry out. Now go get you some rest and put some eye drops in. When your all relaxed and not stressed you can have at it and replace the screen yourself for cheap.

My 8gb touch will not switch on, can you help me

1. Is the battery charged? 2. Is your USB port providing enough power? 3. Is the cable ok? If the battery is really flat then the power from the USB port may not be enough. Try plugging it into a wall charger. If all this fails then it's broken. If it's under warranty (12 months), take it to your nearest Authorised Apple Service Centre and they will get it exchanged in a couple of days No warranty? Google "iPod repairs" in your country and you should be able to find someone who can fix it. The usually have a self diagnosis on line so will get an idea of the cost before you begin

Has it been dropped? Try syncing it with iTunes, you may need to reset to defaults. Otherwise, it may be damaged beyond repair.

IPod Touch - 8GB

Hello TerrieLyn,

If you have used different chargers / charge methods and the iPod is still not getting a charge you can probably rule out the charger as the cause of the problem. It sounds like there is something wrong with your iPod itself.

The most likely cause is a defective internal battery, but there could also be a problem with the charge circuitry or the charger port.

I'd suggest taking the unit into your local Apple store or the retailer that you purchased the iPod from. Depending on when you purchased the unit and whether or not you purchased any additional service plan coverage you may have to pay for any repair services.

Best Regards,
Ken
