Question about Canon NP 6551 Black and White Copier
We have an error code of e002 on a used copier which is a np6050 what does this code mean?
Also this code needs to be cleared in service mode. Despite what the display says, turning it off and on will not reset it. To enter service mode insert a straightened paper clip into the small hole in the front cover, near the meters, a "$" sign will appear on the display. Press * 4 * in order. Press ">>" to select "error" then press "OK" then power cycle.
(I cant remember on that model but you may need to defeat the interlock on the front door in order to enter service mode.)

E002 means that your top fusing roller is not heating up quick enough. The roller has 2 minutes to get from 70º C to 100º C and another 2 minutes to get from 100º C to 150ºC. If that doesn't happen, the machine codes out. Things to look for: bad thermistor or heater, SSR or possibly DC controller. 6050s are pretty old machines now, so I'd look for bad connections at the DC controller or connectors at the rear of the processor itself.
