Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

My 10 year old Yok Diamond 80 Furnace comes on, (blower only) no heat. One Tech suggested a $ 500 repair, by replacing the mother-board. Weird thing is, for one nite only, it was on and blowing warm air. tech had left the top panel off the furnace, bottom panel was on and filter was out. Now fan is running, but no flames, no heat. There is no problem with the Digital Thermostat. Any ideas as to the problem. Do I really need to replace the Circuit Board?

Is it cost effective to replace draft inducer blower on 22 year old furnace?

Depends on the cost to repair. Probably a 22 year old furnace is not very efficient also. Take every thing into consideration.
If it still works it may work for a while but you don't want a break down in the middle of winter.

Hello, It very well may be the limit switch,a Limit switch opens when the heat exchanger gets too hot and the most likely cause is lack of airflow. I would check the blower motor and make sure it is running at proper speed and not running too slow, clean burners out, clean blower wheel if dirty, and have the heat exchanger inspected.

York Diamond 80 Issue. AC and Blower work fine. Heat will not come on. Circut breakers are fine, all power is on. Any advise.

Open the furnace door. Turn the thermostat on, and hold the power switch on. Look for the service code on the control board. That should tell you whats wrong with it. www.FastACservice.com

Problems with Furnace

On is just the blower fan nothing else, check to see if there is a reset button in the tstat or tripped over load inside the furnace, inside the furance is some safetys, you will see wires runing from each other and finaly to the gas valve, push each untill one of them clicks, then your furnace should start back working, but I would still have someone come out and check why it tripped, because as I said it is a safety, and when it tripps it is for a reason.
