You can only use bass and treble if your Z-Enhancer is OFF. If it is on excite or bass boost you cannot adjust bass or treble

Alpine 9845 cde head unit car stereo i Cannot figure out how to access the Fader not the balance, altho i havent seen that function either. ive been to the alpine site and they dont even mention it. im sure...

Press the Rotary encoder (CDE-9845/CDE-9843
only) or press MODE (CDE-9841 only) repeatedly
to choose the desired mode.
Each press changes the modes as follows:
BASS → TREBLE → SUBWOOFER* → BALANCE → FADER
→ DEFEAT → VOLUME → BASS
BASS: -7 ~ +10
TREBLE: -7 ~ +7
Subwoofer : 0 ~ +15
Balance : L15 ~ R15
Fader : R15 ~ F15
Defeat : ON/OFF
Volume : 0 ~ 35

How do i adjust the treb/bass?

my initial reply was...On the function button you may need to depress it for 3 seconds to activate base, treble, balance etc But
then I found this, "Rotary Volume Control: The CD receiver uses a 7-way rotary volume control that increases and decreases the volume of the stereo from 0 to 35. The rotary knob also controls other audio settings such as Balance, Fader, Bass, Mid, Treble and preset EQ settings. In addition, the rotary knob allows you to scroll through and select your music tracks when the Music Search function is activated.
Cheers, this should help ya.

NEED HELP WITH SOUND SETTINGS, EG FAD, R, L, WHAT NUMBERS SHOULD I HAVE THEM ON FOR THE BEST SOUND

the fader and balance should remain at 0. Then the bass should be higher than the treble, but you will just have to play around with them and find what suits your ear.

Defeat on/off

Here is a link to a .pdf version of your owners manual.

http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/500/500CDA9856.PDF

On page 19, Under Sound Customizing, it refers to a MODE button that if you press it repeatedly, it will cycle through a number of options. They read as Bass/Treble/SubW/BALANCE/FADER/DEFEAT/VOLUME/BASS

Then it says to make adjustments to any of the options above to turn the Rotary Encoder which is picuted on that same page just a little bit above the Customizing Sound section. It appears to be your volume control knob. Hope this helps. :D

BASS,TREBBLE,MIDS SETTING

Hello 1rocknroller,

Press the mode button repeatedly to select BASS, TREBLE, SUBW, BALANCE, FADER, DEFEAT, AND VOLUME. When subwoofer mode is set to off, it's level cannot be adjusted. If DEFEAT is set to ON, the player returns to factory defaults. Turn the volume control to adjust the setting. If no adjustment is made within 5 seconds after selecting, the player returns to normal mode.

Hope this helps.

I need to find out what buttons control the bass and treble

Press in on the volume control repeatedly to step through the menu of audio functions. The
first option is Volume, followed by subwoofer (only if the subwoofer feature is currently
activated), Bass, Treble, Balance, Fader and back to Volume. When adjusting audio functions,
the unit will automatically exit audio control mode after five seconds of inactivity

How to adjust treble and bass

At the lower left of the unit, just right of the power button is a button marked LD, with A-M below that. Push this button and the display will say BATT, then, in a couple seconds it will display 2 numbers. The left number is the bass and can be adjusted with the select arrows (left & right arrows). The right number is the treble and can be adjusted with the volume arrows (up & down arrows). If you push the LD button once more, it will display BAL, then 2 numbers. The left is the left-right balance & the right is the front-back balance. They can be adjusted in the same way with the arrow keys. Hope this helps someone.
