Question about Computers & Internet
Need to know the manufacturer of you motherboard. If you have a manual or literature that came with your pc, it should say who made your motherboard, it will say something like American Megatrends, Gigabyte, Abit, Asus, etc. Once we know who made your motherboard, then we can got to the manufacturer's website, unless you have an add on network card, in that case we would go to the manufacturers website who made the card. Example, say your motherboard was made by Asus, we would type Asus into your search engine, I recommend Google, but any will do, typically you want to find the support website, in this case it would be:
Once there you would have to supply some information such as:
Select Product:, in this case it would be networking
Select Series:, in this case it would be Adaptor
Select Models:, for this example we'll use NX1001
Next they will ask for your Operating System, for this example we'll use WinXP
Then Whala, you would see a page with data on it about your motherboard and the network chipset, scroll down the page until you see the word download, this is typically a link, clicking on it will cause the driver to download to your computer, then run the file and it will walk you through the install procedure.
Warning: if Abit is your manufacturer, they are out of business, and you will probaly have to pay to get the driver from a third party. Let me know how you fair, if you have a problem, let me know where you failed, I may have the driver your looking for, in that case it won't cost you anything to get it.
