My Pictures glitch

I am having problems uploading/viewing pictures on my computer. After attaching and uploading the pictures from my digital camera, I have not been able to open the My Pictures folder anywhere without the program crashing. I also have not been able to upload any of these pictures onto the internet without the internet windown crashing. Is this a problem with security?

My computer is a Fujitsu Lifebook. The memory size is 2.20 GHz, 2.99 GB of RAM. The pictures folder is the only thing I have trouble accessing, and I've only uploaded about 40 pictures.

You have more than enough hardware setup to enjoy your pictures... maybe your camera is going to sleep mode during transfer? check your battery and make sure your camera can sustain the time to transfer all your picture from cam to computer.

don't upload directly from camera... save the images in your pc first then upload from your pc.

depending on needs... if you just want to show pictures online, not for printing... i would suggest to create a duplicate and resize the duplicate image so that you have smaller files during upload... this will speed up the speed significantly.

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

You didn't specify the make and model of your camera, so this assumes it uses a memory card of some type.

How do I upload pictures onto my Dell d600

If your photos are stored on a SD memory card then remove the SD memory card from the camera and insert the memory card into an USB memory card reader. Connect the USB memory card reader into the USB port of your Dell computer. The Dell wiil detect the card reader as an external storage device, you can then open the folder on the memory card that contains the photos and then copy them to your computer.

To import pictures and videos from a digital camera
  1. Connect the camera to your computer by using the camera's USB cable.

  2. Turn on the camera.

  3. In the AutoPlay dialog box that appears, click Import pictures and videos using Windows.

  4. (Optional) To tag the pictures, type a tag name in the Tag these pictures (optional) box.

By default, the folder name includes the date the pictures and videos are imported and the tag name.

  5. Click Import.

A new window opens and shows the imported pictures and videos.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

I have a same problem

I'm not sure what type of Camera you have or the type of software. What I usually do for my pictures is use an external card reader. Remove the card from the camera, place it into the card reader, which attaches to the computer by USB, and acts like a USB mass storage device (on Win XP or Vista). Copy all of the photos to a folder in My Pictures, which will help you recall when these pictures were taken...
