I once had that problem on a Toshiba and it turned out to be related to the battery. Try removing it and using the cord and see if that helps.

Tablet pen's cursor skips around in 3 places?

The cursor skipping in three places is apparently caused by the connectors inside the tablet getting dirty or corroded.
Fortunately, you can easily fix this problem yourself! All you need to do is unscrew the back of your tablet, unplug the connectors and clean them with a q-tip dipped in alcohol.
There is a video on YouTube that shows you step-by-step how to do it(it's easy!).
It's called: Howto fix dead areas on any graphics tablet and it's posted by riodroid.
Here's a link to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff7Vw-0kPsE

Hope this helps!

Dear Technician, While i am typing things, the mouse cursor replaces itself elsewhere and thus my typing shifts to the new place and continues typing from there. I then have to cut the words and...

You are probably hitting the touchpad on your laptop with the heel of your hand while you're typing. This will make the cursor move to some other place. It's not really moving by itself; you just aren't aware you're doing it. I would suggest turning off the touchpad while you're typing, and then turn it back on as needed. Compaq computers usually have a switch on the touchpad bezel to turn it off. Some people also plug in a USB mouse, finding it more convenient and comfortable if they want to move around on the document frequently.

The touchpad on my laptop does not work. Cursor is frozen. I have a CQ60-615DX notebook. What do I do? Please help!

Make certain the driver for your touchpad is running- usually it is synaptic- would be found under syntpenh.exe in your task manager. Make certain it is enabled in the mouse properties. If that does not work, then connect an external mouse and then disconnect it... sometimes that kicks the service back into starting correctly

Try the mouse settings in the control panel, also try uninstall any touchpad software and remove any touchpad software from running when the pc boots.
To do this either type msconfig into the run/search box or a program like cc cleaner under tools/startup

Skipping and Shaking cursor

I have exactly the same problem as you, my tablet worked perfectly for the first three months and then started to act weird, shaking and skipping screen areas, even if i only touch it with my forearm.

Uninstalling/Re-Installing drivers didn't solved anything, so i started switching my tablet to different usb ports in my pc, and from one to another, the problem got a lot better. It didin't solved it, but works "decent". So, comparing yor experience with mine, it's probably an usb-port problem, rather than the tablet itself i thik.

I will test it in othe computerts to see how it goes

There is a problem with the compatability of your tablet and your monitor. You either have to change your monitor to a different refresh rate or simply move your tablet abit further way from your monitor. If possible, you could change your tablet to "single mode" (depending on your tablet).

I had a similar problem years ago w/ my ss III 12x12 that had worked flawlessly for years. I talked to tech support and they said move it away from monitor (crt) or other source of RF interference - this did not help mine. I tried replacing the power supply w/ generic one - no help. I noticed that the power supply voltage was spiking when check w/o load. After talking to an electric guy I know, he suggested a voltage regulator. Finally I built a home-made voltage regulator and wired it into the generic supply line -Problem solved This was about 10 years ago - still working good today.

I had the same problem and got it fixed. I opened the tablet. (you'll find all the screws at the back, some of them beneath those black rubber pads).

Before you open the tablet, disconnect it from the computer!

Once you open the tablet, you'll find an electronic grid, fixed with tiny black rubber rings.

Check to see all rubber rings are in place
. At the point where the pen skips, check to see if the rubber ring is at the same hight as the neighbouring rings.

Once you checked these, Close the tablet again.

Be sure to firmly close all screws. If you don't make sure every screw is firmly attached, the tablet might skip again and might go crazy!

Re-connect the tablet to the computer, restart Windows if necessary, and it will hopefully work perfectly!

It worked with me this way! Good Luck to you ;)
