I have GE model WJRE5555OH1ww - brand new and won't spin or rise. Had the store deliver another and the second one has the same problem.

Will not spin out the water, if i take out an item i can wring lots of water out of it, after which another spin only cycle I will hear water coming out for a second (just the water i squized out) and that is it, the rest of the clothes remain wet. Dryer went from 50 minutes to 2 and a half hours to dry those clothes. I called GE and they said it is something wrong and they would like to schedule a service technician, but after reading the other two posts on this page I think I will just have lowes exchange this for a different machine

Bought a GE model WJRE5550H1WW brand new. Hate it. Especially with load of towels it wouldn't spin them dry without 2 extra spins. Many times the load still had soap in it, and the unit sometimes leaks lots of water from somewhere underneath. Repairman came out and said the motor was bad, replaced it, and it still didn't work. Another repairman said to put non-dairy coffee creamer in an empty load to fix something he called "suds lock". Did that and of course it didn't help. Then I had
the store deliver another one and this one has the exact same problems. My wife and I are totally fed up with it, and we finally convinced Lowe's to take this piece of junk back. No more GE for us.

Tried every thing their book suggests for the not draining and spinning then called GE. Told GE “service rep” the washer was here less than 24 hours and wanted someone out tomorrow. No, it will be Monday before it is looking atand he reminded me it’s not GEs fault the washer is broken. Yeah, then who’s fault is it? GE picked this washer out as the replacement for the Maytag, they had to have known there were problems! HORRIBLE WASHER!

I have the same problem, I called GE and they said there is definitely something wrong with the machine if I can just wring a bunch of water from the clothes and suggested to put a service call, seeing as I bought it last week I am going to see if I can get lowes to replace it with a WJRE5500GWW instead.

I have had lowes replace the unit with an identical model one, and it works now, clothes come out moist, but you can not wring any water out of it by hand, just like every other washer.

Turns out mine didn't spin properly (it moves side to side, and made a little noise during spin cycle, but not nearly as much as it should, so I thought it was just quiet, but there are multiple engines there and one wasn't working).

So the whole deal with the "pump being too weak" has either been fixed, or just BS the repairmen are feeding you. If your washes is extremely quiet, then there is a good that it isn't spinning right for you as well.

I purchased a GE model wjre55550H1ww in June. I have had two service people here that GE is contracted with. Neither like the machine. Both insinuated that the stand alone pump is too cheap and too weak to get all of the water and suds out of the machine. We tried shortening the drain hose. That didn't work. Has anyone found a solution yet?

MY MAYTAG NEPTUNE STACKABLE WASHER IS NOT SQUEEZING OR DRAINING THE WATER. I HAD THE EXTRA SIMILAR UNIT AND THE 2ND UNIT IS DOING THE SAME. I CHECKED THE DRAIN PIPE AND IT WAS NOT CLOGGED. WHAT ELSE...

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
A washing machine won't spin if the water can't drain. Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem.
2

If the washer still won't drain or spin, check to see if the lid is not closing all the way or if the lid switch is not clicking into place. Close the lid and make sure that it closes all the way down. When the lid closes, the lid switch should click. If there is no clicking sound, then the switch may need to be replaced. Follow manufacturer's directions for replacing the switch. If the lid does not close all the way, visually check for signs that the lid is bent. If bent, try to bend it back into place.
3

Loose or broken belts could also prevent a washing machine from draining or spinning. Pull the washer away from the wall and, using the screwdrivers and wrenches, remove the back panel. Using the flashlight, visually check for any broken or loose belts. Replace any broken or loose belts. Although replacing washing machine belts is difficult, anyone who has replaced belts on a car, lawn mower or even a bicycle chain should be able to accomplish the task.
4

Another possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power. If the washer is getting power, turn on the washer and listen to find out if the pump is running but the water is still not draining. It may be necessary to remove the pump and clean it or to replace the pump with a new one. Once the pump is replaced, turn on the washer to determine if it will now drain and spin.
5

If all of the above steps fail to produce a washing machine that drains or spins, then it is time to call a professional repairman. Use the screwdrivers and wrenches to replace the panel on the washer and push it back against the wall.

Ld signal won't drain

For the LD error please check for the following:

  • Check for kinked or clogged Drain Hose: Remove any obstructions in the drain hose / stand pipe / utility sink. Straighten the hose to remove any kinks. If the washer is unable to drain due to a kinked or restricted drain hose, the washer may not spin.
  • Check for Standpipe higher than 8 feet above the floor:The pump is not powerful enough to pump water to heights greater than 8ft. The water will remain in the basket.
  • Check for excessive suds in the washer: Drain pumps cannot drain suds out of the washer.
To clear the suds condition: Check the drain hose and make sure the hose is not plugged or kinked Press pause/cancel twice to clear the display Run the machine through a Rinse/Spin cycle using cold water, then a Normal cycle using cold water.

Note: Do NOT add any additional detergent. This will remove much of the remaining detergent held in the fabric. This step may have to be repeated to remove all the detergent.

The washer leaves water remaining in drum after the entire wash cycle, it becomes stale and makes my clothes that I was smell. My father's front loader, GE, does not leave any water in the drum

Hello

Check the drain tube,it needs to be 30 inches above the floor.

Also if the drain tube from the washer is too far into the drain the washer will not drain completly. The drain tube should be 1 inch into the wall drain.

Also check for kinks or obstructions in the washer drain tube.

My washer will not pump out water or spin . it will fill, and aggitate. drain hose is not kinked

If your washer does not drain you need to check this parts.
  1. Inspect the drain hose for kinks
  2. Test the timer control
  3. Test the lid switch(some models)
  4. Inspect the water pump
  5. Inspect the drive belt(belt drive only)
  6. Inspect the motor coupler
If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess. If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

Clothes come out soaking wet

Is the Delicate or Hand Washables cycle selected?
Spin speeds can vary by the cycle that is selected. Your washer is designed so that in certain cycles, such asDelicate or Hand Washables cycles, the spin speeds are slower. In these cycles, more water is retained in the load at the end of the cycle to keep delicate fabrics from shrinking and wrinkling. Select the appropriate cycle based on the fabric being washed.
Was an Extra Low, Low or No Spin option selected?
Select the highest spin speed for the fabric being washed. If extra low spin or no spin was selected, the washer may not remove enough water from the load.
Were you washing one bulky item, such as a rug or large blanket?
Consider adding more items to help balance the load during spin. Select $FL-drainspin cycle and restart the washer. Your washer is designed to detect an unbalanced load and automatically lower the spin speed. Unbalanced conditions are more likely to occur with a single, bulky item.
Are excessive suds present?
Use only HE High Efficiency detergent. Using non-HE detergent or more than the manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent can cause excessive suds. The excess suds can cause the washer to run at a reduced spin speed, which will result in very wet loads.
See also: Why HE High Efficiency detergent is required.
Is the drain hose kinked or is the drain clogged?
Make sure the drain hose is not kinked. Straighten the hose for adequate water flow. Remove any blockage from the drainpipe or utility sink. Use the U-shaped drain hose form on the drain hose, and secure the drain hose. See the Installation Instructions for details; find them by entering your model number in the Manual and Literature search below.
Is the end of the drain hose more than 96" (244 cm) above the floor?
The drainpipe (standpipe) height requirements are: 96" (244 cm) maximum and 30" (76.2 cm) minimum. Your washer will not be able to adequately pump the water out of the washer if the drainpipe (standpipe) exceeds 96" (244 cm). In this case, the water may flow back into the washer. See the Installation Instructions for details; find them by entering your model number in the Manual and Literature search below.
Is your outlet voltage low?
