Question about Garden

My mother-in-law said her lawnboy just quit running, so I brought it to my house to check it out. It appears to me it isn't getting gas. I took air cleaner off and sprayed some carb cleaner in and it ran as long as I kept spraying. I assume it is a carb problem. Any suggestions? The model # is 10330

I assumed that it was the carb, but thought it could be something else. Thanks

You will need to disassemble, clean, and then reassemble the carburetor. This should get it back running again but since you will have to take it off you might as well rebuild the carb using new gaskets and seals (if you plan on keeping it around for five more years) You are looking at a dirty carb or a carb that will need rebuilding.

Why did my lawnboy lawn mower quit while it was running?

If your not out of gas then loosen the fuel cap a bit and start your engine. if the unit keeps running then replace your fuel cap because it's not venting which builds up pressure in the tank and stops fuel flow. Another possibility is that you got dirt in your carb and it's blocking a passage. In this case clean your carb

My honda CH-50 metropolitan scooter isn't getting gas from the tank, our friend drove it all around florida and then brought it up to us, we think he flipped a fuel cutt of switch when he shipped

The problem is most likely a blockage in the carb, or air filter. check the air filter and then clean the carb. You may just need to run some fuel system cleaner through the engine, you can do this at idle.

Lawnboy model 10795 is not getting gas to cylinder. I choked and pulled and took the plug out and it is dry.?

is gas getting to the carb, if so check the flote boul to see if its being let in
I would also spray some fuel throw the carb ans start it up ,it sould run for a few seconds and may just free up what every you have going on, maybe just keep lightly spraying some in through the carb to run it for a short time

Suggest that the new igniter is defective.

I have a 1987 commercial lawnboy walk behind mower that has stopped running. I gradually lost power over the summer and now it will not start. I have installed a new plug and filter earlier in the spring....

I would try and remove carb and clean it thuroughly. You can soak the parts in solvent or equivelant. The carb would be right after the air filter tube to the intake of engine.

Lawnboy 10685 mower surging problems

I hope that the shop didn't rebuild the whole mower engine for you if you took it in for a surge. If you mean they rebuilt the carburetor, that's what it needed. I'd call them, tell them it's doing the same thing as it was before (starving for gas, causing the governor to "hunt"). The carburetor is dirty inside. You have a blocked/partially blocked jet. You can either take the carb off yourself and try to clean it, or take it back to them and let them try again.

Here is a thought. First, before you take it back to the shop, take the small bolt on the bottom of the carb. This holds on the bowl. You do not want to take this off if the machine is full of gas, cause it will leak all over your mower/floor. Tilt the mower backwards or try to drain the gas out. When you get this little brass bolt/nut out, and get the gas cleaned up that leaked out, if you look real hard you will see a very tiny little hole in the shaft of this little bolt. Some even had 3 of them. It may appear to be just a blemish in the finish, but it has to be clean to allow proper operation. Spray with carb cleaner, and take a small wire, such as a single strand of a speaker wire or something similar. Clean that hole/holes out. Clean out the inside of the bolt shaft as well, as debris will settle in there. Put the bolt back in and tighten the bowl up. Make sure the bowl is straight and the gasket is back on the little brass bolt. Tighten snuggly, but not forced.

Try that. If it works, and the mower runs better, put some carb cleaner in the gas and run a bit.

I would push the prime button 3 or 4 times it starts then quiet

I took my carburetor off and blew it out with compressed air. Runs great now. Make sure to get all of it. Little screw on bottom has a hole in it too!
