If the traces are lifted, then use jumpers to the points of origin of each trace. Tack the jumpers down with silicone seal or other adhesive.

Replace the connector ifthere is any chance of damage to the connector itself.

I am assuming that you broke the connector off the pcb board? you need a soldering iron about 30W and solder and flux, to remove and short circuit after you solder them back on, using a magnifying glass to make sure none of the 5 termnials are shorted

I have the 88 key ones and powering via the USB is marginal... IF you have a place for an adapter, use one, as the computer USB is limited to 1/2 amp and OFTEN they limit at a little less and then the keystation is not reliable...

The contacts are most likely dirty. Did you spill something on that area? If you are handy, open the keyboard and clean the contacts. You can use a q-tip with rubbing alcohol. Being a controller, there shouldn't be too much wiring inside, but take note of which connectors you disconnect.

When i plug the power source my dmix 300 only blinks and it doesnt stay on. what can i do to reset the dmix or what can i do?

It sounds like the power connector is NOT making solid contact, but only toches briefly as you insert connector. Often these connectors have problems if the size if the pin vs the hole in the connector is not compatible. The OTHER common problem is that the solder where the connector attaches to the circuit board breaks loose. When you insert the connector, the broken solder joint briefly touches and cause the unit to blink and then the connection breaks again. Open unit and assess the connection.

One other common problem is the cord breaks at the flex point where it is molded into the connector. as you move it, it can breifly touch inside the insulation and then seperate again.

First step is to download Midi Monitor http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/
just to make sure you're actually getting midi over USB into the computer. This is a great utility that I use all the time for troubleshooting midi data issues.

I just bought an M-Audio Keystation 88ES. I have a used Behringer expression pedal. The pedal works fine in the sustain input, but when I insert the jack in the volume input it cuts all power to the...

If the power goes off when you plug in the pedal, the pedal LIKELY has a short in it between two of the three connections at the plug.

Firat, try putting the pedal plug in BEFORE applying power.

Likely the pedal presents a pot or volume control that will have like 5 volts across it an the wiper returned on the same cable. If the wiring configuration is wrong OR if the plug goes through a period of shorting the 5 volts out during insertion that will cause a problem...

To troubleshoot, move the pedal to half way and these with an ohmmeter for shorts between ANY two of the three connections.

Most of these use conductive rubber pills that are pressed onto circuit board traces by the keys.

Clean the board AND the pills with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and QTips.

M-audio ProKeys 88sx -- all led lights flash, no sound Upon turning the keyboard on, all led lights on the top panel flash. No sound from the keyboard. Is there a re-set button or something?

I have two of these. First thing check your power adapter for output. Just because LED's are on doesn't mean there is correct voltage... There is no reset button... Cycling power serves to reset it.

ALSO check the power input connector... sometimes those get intermittent and break connection due to vibration and initial current surge when turning on.

The prongs on the USB connector broke off. Do we need to replace a board and if so how do we do so?

You can buy new connector and replace broken one. You need skill at soldering and of course have to open the unit to access the broken connector.
