which side is the control, the front or the back. The control knob is on the upper portion on the back where you grip the fan.

Oven cleaning instructions

Look at the finish of the inside surface. If it looks dirty then it should be cleaned. You can use some foam products such as EasyOFF. Instructions are on the can. Follow them and don't breathe any of the fumes that propagate in the air. Keep a window open, just in case.

How to clean lakewood 2210 fan

Hi, if you look inside the grill from the back side, you will see there are small snaps inside near the edge of the cover. The snaps go around the entire cover and are about 3-4" apart.
I used a flat tip screwdriver to get push the tab up from the back and the inside of the grill. When you push up the tab a bit, then slide a small flat tip screwdriver on the outside lip of the front grill. You will have to do this all the way around until the cover snaps off. Putting it back on is a breeze because it just snaps together.
Hope this helps.... =) good luck

Computer is running hot then shuts computer down. What is this from?

Your fan that cool your computer on the inside is either so dirty it cant work properly or it doesnt work at all. They are very easy to replace just go online and look for a replacement if that is the problem. But first, open up your computer and look for the fan and see if it is dirty or not. if it is unplug your computer and clean the fan with your vacuum and or with compressed air. ( you can buy this at any computer store or Radio shack) Once you have cleaned it all up inside plug computer back in and turn on to see if this solved your problem. Remember to be extra careful anytime you are working around electronics and electricity. Hope this helps! ....... Rick

Well every time wene i play my psp game it works fine but wene i go to a differnt level or pick somthig diffe it frezers up but the little botton that exit the game works and the volum works wene it...

the disc may be dirty or scratched, when you look inside the bottom of the disc (the clear part), if it looks dirty or there is debris inside, the case can be CAREFULLY cracked open with a small flathead screwdriver or better yet a utility knife. once opened, you can clean the little disc inside, with a very soft cloth like a kiwi cloth and a little bit of water. don't use any chemicals. then close the case back up with a little bit of crazy glue around the edge.

if the disc isn't dirty, the actual drive may be dirty. this is a little more tricky as it involves cleaning the laser, and is best done with the unit apart. if you care to dabble or have an electronics friend, a q-tip with some isopropyl alcohol is all you'll need once you get it apart. GENTLY swab the laser lens (the eye) just enough to say you did. let it dry and try out your game.

hope this helps!

I want to clean a very dirty Vornado circulating floor fan but I don't see how to get it apart.

There are three clips the hold the grill to the cowl.
Look along the outer edge, on the back.
One clip at 11 o'clock, one at 2 o'clock and one at 6 o'clock.
Use a flat blade screw driver to push the 11 and 2 positions down (do 11 then do 2) and the grill shold come off.

If this one is like mine (and it looks just like it except my Lasko doesn't have the wood grain on the front) there is no filter inside. It is just a fan inside a plastic case.

If you want to clean it, you can try blowing it out with compressed air if you have a powerful enough compressor. If you really want to clean it, you will have to take it apart and that isn't as simple as it sounds if your unit is just like mine.

There are a bunch of screws on the back, which isn't too bad except one of them is a triangle headed "security screw" that is probably there to keep you from taking it apart. I looked at several stores and couldn't find a screwdriver to fit the stupid thing. So what I did was that I took out the rest of the screws, pried the case open as far as I could with my hands and cut the support that the last screw was attached to from inside with a strong pair of wire cutters.

I figured that when I put it back together, I wouldn't miss that one screw and I wouldn't want to deal with a triangle head screw every time I took it apart in the future anyway.

Once the case is apart, I found the best way to clean the blades is to remove the whole blade assembly and just wash the thing out in the tub and let it dry thoroughly before putting it back in. There's a metal brace (Held on by two screws) at the top the top spindle goes into and there's a single screw on the shaft of the motor that hold the bottom spindle in. It probably sounds more complicated than it is. It's pretty simple when you see it.

If you put it back together right, you almost can't do anything wrong. You might want to take a damp cloth and wipe down the interior of the case and the shrouds that surround the blades as well. If you've had it a while, they'll be dirty. You'll see/feel the dirt wherever it is. This thing is a pretty simple machine and is easy to clean once you figure it out. I put a few drops of oil on the top spindle when I put mine back together.

How do I clean/take apart the Lasco tower fan, mine is working but extreamly dirty. Purchased 3 at WalMart and ; no paper work in boxes.

Easiest solution is going to be compressed air, not canned air for blowing out keyboards and computers, but compressed air from an air compressor. These fans are not designed to come apart for cleaning.. they're meant to be used a year, thrown away and you buy another one.

Heater turns on and clicks right off no fan

Take unit apart and thoroughly clean ( vaccum out) the fan area. if it is dirty you should blow out accumulated dust from the same area, if the fan does not turn freely the unit will overheat and shut down
