Question about Garden

When i use the keypad or internal button to close my garage it will begin to close then immediately reopen. The sensors are clear and nothing is causing the door to stop closing and reopen. What do you suggest I trouble shoot to fix my problem.

Make sure the sensors are properly aligned. disconnect the opener with the saftey release and operate the door manually. be sure the door opens and closes reasonably easy by hand. If not, check for binding or broken springs or torsion springs

Make sure the door sensors are pointed at one another. Each of them has a small light that should come on when they are correctly pointed at one another. If you cannot get both light to come on you have bad sensors.

How to program my garage door opener #53985 have to remotes and a wall button. Door keeps wanting to reopen after closing. Fred Haul.

Your problem has nothing to do with programming. It is one of two problems. Either the door sensors are misaligned or the door is traveling too far in the down direction and when it hits the floor the safety reverses it to the open position.

Make sure the door sensors are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a bit.

The down limit adjustment is on the side of the motor unit. Turn it a bit in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover.

Craftman garage door opener closes via the key pad and immediately reverses and reopens. have adjusted travel limit as well as force. Any suggestions

If the main light flashes 10 times when the door reverses it is a door sensor problem. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a little. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have bad sensors or the wiring to them.

It sounds like the door is traveling too far in the down direction. When it hits the floor the safety causes it to reverse to the open position. You need to adjust the 'down limit' not the force.

Door opens, when closing stops immediately but there is nothing blocking the safety light and lights are green. I can hold the button and door will close but as soon as i release the button it opens again.

Check your door sensors closely. Sometimes one will be off just a bit and the light will be on but blinking ever so slightly. If the main light flashes 10 times when the door reverses it is definitely a door sensor problem. Nothing else will cause that.

Garage door opener is malfunctioning

It sounds like the gear and sprocket assembly has gone bad. This would cause the symptoms you have.

Door will not close with remote.

The code you are seeing with 5 blinks is "RPM sensor or motor overload." We can eliminate the motor overload because the door is trying to close. The RPM sensor is a small printed circuit board just in front of the motor. It's a snap to replace and is available at any good door opener company. They will know exactly what you are talking about if you ask for an RPM sensor board.
