SOURCE: Dysin vacuum blows air instead of sucking it!

If it is blowing air, then it is still clogged up somewhere, you didn't give your model number, but some of these have removable covers on each side and on the back. Also make sure that all covers are back on securely.

SOURCE: my carpet cleaner

I took my Bissell proheat apart trying to fix the suction in it. I finally realized that the red filter has to not only be cleaned but also opened to get the suction needed for a good cleaning.

Assure the ring gasket is in place under the hood. A round rubber gasket must be in place on the round tube under the hood where the recovery tank sits to connect the vacuum from the motor to the round tube on the bottom of the tank.

SOURCE: it seems to blow air out instead of sucking up

Remove the bag on top and the plate on the bottom. Clean out the air passages, top and bottom, looking for a clog. When it seems clear, turn on the vacuum to see if air is moving through. Don't allow a full bag to remain in place Check the brush on the bottom for string, hair, or thread caught in the bristles or bearings on either end. Hope this helps!

Spot bot is blowing not sucking

This problem may be the same as I am having. The SpotBot recirculates the vacuum air back into the brush area when it is using the circular brushes. There is a short flexible hose deep inside the unit that connects from the clear plastic nozzles in the round brush unit to the end of the clear vacuum hose outside. Mine had a large tear in that flexible hose. This causes air to enter the hose and reduces the vacuum action, like cutting a hole in the side of your regular vacuum hose. The bad part is that I have not been able to find a replacement hose. It also takes a bit of repair experience to even get inside to where this hose is. Given the number of references to this type of issue, it appears that Bissell has a design flaw that causes the hose to break prematurely. Any response Bissell?

There is probably a clog somewhere. Start by checking the tube where the air is sucked into the vacuum by the brushroll

Bissell 8975 is not sucking up. I took apart the bottom and cleaned it thoroughly and disassembled the filtration system but still it has no suction.

try blowing down the inlet pipe it could be blocked up if you have sucked up some thing big (ei: like the cat or maybe one of the kid's?) some times the fan has started to spin on the drive shaft that would cause it not to **** any more and very soon the motor would start to over heat as well, it may be a better idear to get a new one as the cost of getting it fixed wont be cheep, it would need a new motor fitted, pricy?

Be sure when you put the dirtant dust container in place that it is in properly. I have had this and believe it or not this container has enough room to fit without it seating properly. Take the dust container out and reseat it making sure the bottom is secure and then turn the lock lever in place. Try it again. What happens is you get an air gap which allows some air to flow but the vacum does not function properly.
