The properties show that the usb is using 1.5gb of space, but I am unable to view any of the files that are using up that space. Any ideas how I can go about viewing these files?

You could try viewing them from a different computer, possibly one running a different operating system. Are you using the computer that the files originated from?

Not enough storage space on my computer

Whatever version of Windows you're using, in the view you're most comfortable with (Explorer, My Computer, Disk Manager, etc) right-click on your local hard drive(s) C: D: etc and select [Properties]. The very first tab, [General] should bring up information showing the space on the drive and a button labelled "Disk Cleanup". Click on that, follow the prompts as needed to select items to remove from your hard drive. You'l probably see that Temp files, temporary internet files and recycle bin files are taking up a lot of space. These are safe to remove.
After that's done, in the same "Local Drive" properties window, the "Tools" tab will have a button for [Defragment Now]. Normally, Windows 7 and later defrag in the background but since you've performed a large file deletion a manual defrag is a good idea.

If you just need more storage space for files there are more specific options available for your PC. Could be simple as adding an external hard drive or check the Dell support site for upgrading the internal HDD on your computer.

Please check at your own home system , that all the data in your pen drive may in hidden format and you have unabled the option to show hidden files in your computer and other pc don't have unabled the show hidden files option. My 16GB USB flash drive is completely empty, but its properties indicate that 14.6GB of space are in use and only 319MB are available. It has worked appropriately for a long time until now. I am now unable...

I think it could be due to virus activity. Some virus make the contents of the drive hidden, thats why user can't see the files and the space available for use is less than the capacity.
It is suggested that go to FOLDER OPTIONS - and seclect SHOW HIDDEN FILES. It may show the hidden files. Otherwise, if you dont have any vital data on the drive, just format it. Hope this would fix the issue and you would be able to enjoy the full capacity of the disk

Let me know if any further clarification is required. Hope this helps! Dont forget to rate the solution!!

Can not view my music files on my laptop (but can on my desktop)

Get the latest firmware upgrade - this player wasn't originally designed with WMP 11 in mind. Also, make sure the laptop has the folders "My Documents" and "My Music" on it - this is primarily where WMP reads from.

My Book Premium

Suppose you're using MS Windows... Click right button on (I) drive then check out "Properties" of your drive. In "General" tab you should see "Used space:" and "Free space:" If in "Used space:" is something like "24 KB" then it looks like you lost your files :( Otherwise somehow may happen that your files became "hidden" or "system" files. In "Control Panel" open "Folder Options" in tab "View" check/uncheck properties of "Hidden files and folders" and "Hide protected operating system files(Recommended)" to see what is in your (I) drive. Anyway may be helpful some program which can recover accidentally deleted files. Try to google "recover files" for such program.
