Question about Philips Magnavox 27MS343S 27" TV
If the captions still come on even if you have them turned off on the TV, then they are coming from some other device. This is common if you are using a satellite receiver or cable converter box. These devices provide closed captioning as well, and you probably have it turned on there. Check the setting on whichever one you have, and shut off the captions. This should clear up the mystery.
