First when you attache the Ac adapter are there any lights do you see any lights? sometimes there is a light by the connector (jack) where you attach the AC. Otherwise this might be a mobo problem. Have you try to attach an external monitor? The top of the question mentions a desktop E520 but below points to a LCD. I am assuming a laptop. If you have another laptop with the same LCD screen then you can take the suspected bad LCD and place it in the good laptop. Also you can take the good LCD and place it in the bad laptop. First read the first lines of the preliminary troubleshooting.
if you faced just black lines (movable) then this might be due to flex cable or if the dotted and lines are fixed at some places then you have to replace the LCD of your Laptop. for best guidance please placed your Laptop Brand and Model description.
hi i would recommend the best is to take ur laptop to ur service provider since u haven't mentioned ur company name if ur laptop has a warranty then they will solve the problem for free n they won't charge u for that but if ur laptop doesn't has the warranty then they will charge u a minimum of 100-200 rupees and if its due to a software problem then try the best is system restore it restores ur system to an earlier time when ur windows worked fine but best is the above solution and thanks for posting ur problem if there are any further problem regarding the above topic then mention it in brief with warm regards- bonefirediv
Is this on your laptop and are they black lines? If its on your monitor on your laptop, then you may need a new screen which may be very expensive. Try restarting it, rebooting it, and changing resolutions. Also if you are hooked up to a different monitor it may just be the cable. Hope this helps a bit, sorry for your trouble.
