Motor runs, but main burner will not ignite

2.defective timer or timer circuit---check timer wiring--replace timer motor or switch as needed
3.defective centrifugal switch in motor---clean switch or replace as needed
4.gas supply valve closed----open gas valve
5.inoperative solenoid coil---test coil for open circuit & the voltage to it
Pilot burner goes out
1.insufficient gas supply---- low gas pressure or clogged pilot filter or partially closed gas valve
2.carbon deposit on thermocouple tube---clean tube & check pilot burner for proper combustion
3.improperly adjusted pilot flame--adjust pilot flame until faint yellow tip begins to appear
4.faulty ignition or reset valve or thermocouple---replace

Need trippers for a paragon P1:4-71. Can you help?

Number given does not identify timer.

Open following link to identify timer.

If you have P-100, then tripper is X9242.
Robertshaw sells x9242

If you have different timer, then add a comment saying which timer on link above matches your timer, or include photo of timer that you posed on Flickr, for possible answer.

Upvote the help.
And take advantage of fixya expert assistance live.
For a price, expert works with you while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

Timer is falling behind keeping time.

Paragon 7007-00 is 120V 7-day timer with spring-wound carry-over for power outage. Indoor outdoor enclosure. Heavy duty terminals and industrial motor. Sounds like it should last many years. Exposure to heat, moisture, dirt might shorten lifespan.
1) Flip manual override. Does it work crisp? If loose or hard to move, then mechanical lever might be worn or dirty. Take timer free and inspect for dirt, rust, loose parts that might indicate if new timer is needed
2) While timer is free from housing, inspect gears. Are they clean?
-Use blower & after gears are clean, spray with WD 40
Note:WD 40 is extremely flammable, turn off power.
3) Pins on timer wheel make contact with lever ... they push lever on and off - add touch of white grease to metal pins where they come into contact with on-off lever. Inspect pins for rough spots that might catch on lever.
4) Clock motor might be bad
Found links showing Paragon 7000 series motor, so motors must be failing. Motor is attached to back of timer.

I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 dryer whose timer is not working

You will probably have to replace the timer switch.
Most timer switchs are non-repairable.
If you replace the timer switch, make sure you get the right one and then replace one wire at a time, this will save problems if you get confused with the wiring.
Good luck,
I hope this helps

Trying to replace timer 8299771. Can't find my

On the new timer , you have 2 wires comming of the timer motor . The blue wire should go to one of these terminals on the timer itself . The place where there is ONLY a timer motor wire going to , is where it should go .

Heating element stays on when dryer is off.

I would advise to inspect the high limit thermostat. this device may be defective. this will cause the element to continue to operate when the unit is off as well. If the thermostat is operating correctly, replace the timer.
