SOURCE: inside fan motor - evaporator

Yes if you dont hear the evap fan wprking remove rear panel in freezer let me know what you see. Is coil iced over? Is fan running? Is the motor warm? Attempt to spin the blade gently to see if the motor is bound. You can oil these.

SOURCE: Freezer gets cold, Refrigerator Hot

First, I think it’s important to know that the Ref side has no cooling coils, it’s basically a box and the cold air in the freezer is blown over by a fan through a channel into the Ref side. This channel has a door which regulates how much cold air goes through. You probably have two control knobs in the Ref side, one controls the temp with numbers 1-9, 9 being the coldest. This temp control tells the compressor how long to run. The other control is for that little door and it may have letters A-E, E being the coldest. If you set it on E (coldest) then this will close that little door and keep most the cold air in the freezer.

Now, why is that cold air not getting over to the Ref side?
1. The little door is not open.
check your control setting. You can't see the door but, you should be able to feel air coming through the channel on the Ref side.

2. The fan in the freezer is not working.
You can hear this fan running when you open the freezer.

3. The coils on the freezer side are clogged with ice which won't let the fan circulate the air over to the Ref side.
This is a failure of the defrost system which consist of the defrost timer, heater, and thermo disc.

Also, If you replaced the evaporator fan then you got a good look at the cooling coils. Look at these coils while it is running. There should be a light coat of frost on all the coils. If this frost line is only 3/4 or 1/2 or any amount less than full coverage of the coils then the system has a coolant leak.

Directly under these coils is the drain pan and drain hole in the middle. This area should be clear of any ice or debris.

How do I determine if need refrigerant? Compressor is running hot and 2nd thermal protector has to be bypassed

More than likely one of your external coil cooling fans is not operating. OR Access for the fan to blow cooling air is blocked, or the cooling coil is so dirty the fan air is not effective in cooling the coil. Refrigerators are a sealed system. If the compressor has gotten so hot that the motor has burned you might as well find a lightly used replacement. It will probably be less than a repair by a qualified technician. Even if I told you how to replace the refrigerant the stores would not sell it to you. This is not a car Air conditioner! If you lost refrigerant it has probably burned the compressor motor. The refrigerant "acts" like a cooling system for the compressor motor.

Panel between the of doors rs2530bwp is very hot

f the space between the doors is warmer than normal, there is a problem with the airflow over the condensing coil. First, remove the front grille below the door. Then use a brush and vacuum to clean the condenser coil. After the coil is clean feel for warm air blowing from the condenser fan. If you do not feel any air, the condenser fans probably not running. To check the fan pull the refrigerator out from the wall and unplug it. Then remove the lower access panel. Once the panel is removed, try to turn the fan blade by hand. If it turns free, plug the refrigerator in and see if it is turning. If the motor is not running a voltage check is required to confirm the motor is defective. If you have a meter and feel comfortable making live voltage checks, check the ac voltage to the motor. The reading should be at least 110 volts. If you have the voltage, the fan motor has to be replaced.

Does confessor/compressor fan blow air onto compressor or suck hot air away from compressor?this is whirlpool refrigerator

Really, the fan has nothing to do with the compressor. The fan either pulls or blows air through the condenser coils. If the compressor is running, the fan should be working. If the refrigerator goes into defrost, nothing should be working under it.

I have never seen one that doesn\'t suck air in through the coil and blow out the top. My guess is that the double shafted motor was installed backwards.

Verify that the compressor fan is working. The fan is located behind the unit at the bottom. You need to remove tha back panel and observe that the fan is working while the compressor is running.

you will need to use a blow dryer and defrost the back wall.Once that is defrosted then you will need to remove the back panel and defrost the evaporator coil.

There are several things that can go wrong the temp thermostat, defrost thermostat, defrost heater,or control will also need to check the evap fan and make sure it is working.

Ac fan not turning on I can ''stick start it'' but which direction?

The condensor fan should be sucking air from the top and blowing it through the coils, probably a counter clockwise direction. The buzzing/humming sound is confusing to me. A humming sound sounds like a motor that can not turn over to start. A starting capacity would be needed. Just because you changed it out last year does not mean it is good. A buzzing sound sounds like a contactor problem. Contactors buzz and after a while, they will fail. In any case, you can "stick start" the condensor fan PROVIDED you are sure the ac compressor is working (this is for a short and temporary use). Also, you may have a high load duty capacitor that assists in the unit running. This will affect your condensor fan operation if it is not good. Unless you know all the components and operations of ac electrical, I would highly recommend calling out a professional.
