Make sure you have the unit in pairing mode correctly. The pin should be 0000
PUT HEADSET IN PAIRING MODE
1.Ensure the headset is turned off (indicator light not blinking and headset boom is closed) 2.Press and hold the Call button. After about 4 or 5 seconds, the indicator light becomes steadily lit in magenta 3.Release the Call button and immediately open the headset boom. The indicator light remains lit in magenta.
If the indicator light is flashing in blue or not steadily lit when opening the headset boom, repeat steps 1 through 3

If the Motorola is on the same provider, it is the Palm smartphone that is the fault. It may just be you got a less than sensitive one. You should probably contact Palm and see if there is anything they can do short of exchanging it, otherwise exchange it and keep exchanging them until you get one that works. In mass production- these things happen.
If the Motorola is with a different carrier, that may be the difference- they are line of sight devices and the provider you have for the Palm may not have an antenna in your vicinity pointed in the correct direction for you. Which means complaining to the carrier since you know the external antenna works, but the Palm does not.
try this: have both on but not in use,plug the charger in for 10 secs only then unplug, watch lites go from red to blue then flashing just blue at a rate of 1x per second. that resets it. worked for me.i called the company
The passkey is 0000. If you have a problem, reset the headset. Turn the headset off and hold down the call button for 8 seconds until the headset flashes blue and red signaling that it is in pairing mode for the next 120 seconds. While the headset is in pairing mode, use the phone menu to search for Bluetooth devices and select "220Plantronics." (If the headset is already listed in the Bluetooth menu, delete it before searching to pair the device.) When prompted for a passkey, enter 0000. Headset will falsh blue when paired successfully.
I was having the same problem. I finalyl have it working. With the boom closed on the headset Hold down the call button until the light turns purple immediatly let go of the button and then flip open the boom the light should remain purple. Then have the palm centro look for devices and it should now come up. Before I could not get it to locate any devices but now it reognized an "unnamed device" and then it does change it to the H700 after this you can connect it will ask for a passkey or password and it is "0000" Mine has been working fine now. Hope this helps all!!
ok, so yeah, go to your phone and tell it to search for devices. while it searches, hold down the big button on the front of the headset until the light lights up. while it's lit up, turn it on by folding out the microphone piece. this should almost instantly pair your headset.
