Its not hard as you think you should return it just the way you pulled it out because it has a polarity negative is commonly marked in the capacitor but you must have the proper tools soldering iron and solder ******.

Is it safe to use a soft/hard start capacitor on my new Dometic Penguin 11,000 btu A/C ....Model # 640312.30X

No, the capacitor is not integral to the load of the generator, it is only used to start it when it turns on. It takes virtually no voltage from the system to recharge itself. The demand of the unit is not related to a start capacitor. Also it will not harm your unit to install one capacitor over another, they make them so if the connectors fit, they work. Just hook up the leads correctly so you don't discharge it on yourself.

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

When i switch my tv on it has a habit of switching itself off. The red light will still be on and a little green light below it flashes. some days it does it somedays it doesnt. Some times it does it once...

The television is switching itself off to protect itself because there is a problem with it. It may be a bad capacitor, which is usually the case but you have to catch it before it gets any worse. Because then the television will switch itself off and not come back on. The light will just continue to blink and on top of replacing the bad capacitor the entire board the capacitors are attached to might need to be replaced as well as the power supply and main board. Please do not keep turning your television on while it needs repair because it will put itself into a coma and contact a service provider asap.

Why does my jet pump not start when the pressure switch cuts in it just hums and turns very slow till the thermal overload switch shuts it off. I you drain the tank it starts fine

Not many specifics to go on so I can't be too specific with a fix, but most of these type pumps use a capacitor start motor, if and/or when these capacitors go out, the motor will start hard or just hum until the thermal overload safety switch opens. Disconnect pump from power, open the capacitor cover and check for an indicator spot on the terminal end of the capacitor, if its other than white, the capacitor has been hot and needs to be replaced. If there is no indicator try replacing the capacitor anyway, they don't cost much and should be readaly available. The other common fault is a "lost leg " on a 240 Volt circuit, check for a blown fuse (one of two in the disconnect. If your not comfortable and experienced around electricity,Remember: if you don't kill the power, it can kill you ! Call an Electrician.

Pump just begins to start then switches off. It re-sets itself and I can turn in back on in a minute or so, but it just keeps shutting off. I have replaced the capacitor on top, and it ran fine for the...

Capacitors fail because the switch internal to the motor stays closed too long during a start up causing the capacitor to rupture. That same switch is responsible for starting the motor. Since you had a cap fail and now the motor won't start I'd say you need to look at replacing the switch or possibly the motor. A lot of this will depend on the age of the motor and what if anything else is wrong internally. Once you have a complete diagnosis you'll need to decide if it is worth repairing the motor/pump or if a new one is a better route.

Your engine computer is dying. You will either need to replace the three power capacitors located inside the engine computer case or get an entire new computer itself. It's a commonly known problem, with the 90's grand cherokee.

Fan runs ,coils are room temp. should they be hot or cold , no water is collecting in bottom

A dehumidifier is basically an air conditioner, so some coils should feel hot, the others should feel cold.

If no water is collecting, then the unit's compressor is not starting. Typically you have four possible failures causing this: the switch/wiring for the compressor has an open circuit, the motor-start capacitor for the compressor has failed, the compressor itself has failed, or all the refrigerant has leaked out.

If there is evidence that it is 'trying to start', but then clicking repeatedly, this can be a symptom that the refrigerant has leaked out, as some devices have a pressure switch to prevent compressor damage.

Also, a failed start-capacitor can also cause the click-click noise if the device has a current limiter switch on the compressor.

So the short answer is, it's broken :)
