Hello all,
been running gigastudio 2.5 without too much trouble for the past few
weeks on my win XP system, but for the past two days every time I load
it up, it send my cpu usage up to 100% - I can't even load a sound,
let alone work this way...
What is going on?
Anyone come across this before?

What is the P4 denorm problem? Is there a solution to it?
I'm running an Athlon 3000+ 64bit cpu with 1 gig of ram.
No, at least for me Gigastudio does not load the last bank used, it
starts up clean and empty. That is what is so irritating... it takes
5 to 10 minutes for JUST gigastudio to load up... loading up sounds
after that is nearly impossible.. it might load up one small bank, but
forget about putting in any of the larger stuff or loading up a
complete template - it'll think about it for 20 minutes or so, and
then you get the blue screen of death..
The thought of reinstalling XP and all my software makes my head
spin... I'll do it if I have to, but want to be sure there aren't any
simpler methods..
Emailing Tascam has brought up no response..

Sounds maybe like the P4 denorm problem? What are the stats of your
computer? Memory?
I haven't used Gigastudio for a while, so I don't remember if it
automatically loads the last bank it used?
Have you tried reinstalling on a fresh install of XP?
Have you contacted Tascam tech support?

I don't know the specifics, but there has been some problems with
audio apps and the Pentium 4, especially when processing silence. Only
solution is for the soft synth maker to create a fix.
Doesn't apply to you then. this isn't a problem with Athlons.
But the 64bit CPU may be an issue. Other than that, I'm all out of
ideas. Good luck with Tascam.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Gigastudio 2.5 the first version
that supported the XP line of Windows?

gigastudio 2.5,win XP system <are those legal versions>?????
, but for the past two days every time I load
I explain, cuz most of the cracked version or key generator are built
with I virus at first installation... x-cuz my expression <fuck win
XP> roll only on longtime established base like win2k, it's better
like that when you dont have a dedicated machine...usualy,
workstation... better off internet
think about it! it 's worth to move backward in this case
and also you can spare your systeme by using 2 or 3 physical drives,
defrag b-fore each and every project... b careful
