Scanner not working on Canon MF8180C

Running Vista 64 on the Canon MF8180C. Downloaded drivers from Canon site. The printer and fax are working, the scanner doesn't seem to be recognised though, anyone had similar problems and found a solution.

    Hi thanks for a solution, I'm currently using a USB cable for connection, any other ideas.

    I have exactly the same problem.
    Canon told me they didn't have any solutions.
    Perhaps we must wait Canon to make TWAIN application which recignizes it...

We had this when using the printer via network cables. The scanner only works with a USB cable and the setup orgram won't recognise until then.

Since upgrading to windows 7 the canon mf8180 printer is working but I can no longer use the USB connected scanner.

The Canon 8180 will work with Windows 7 32 bit operating systems only. Their latest ToolBox drivers will also get the USB connected scanner to function. 64 bit Windows 7 users are simply out of luck as the printer is not compatible. Drivers are on Canon's site and easy to access.

I'm running Windows7 x64bit, downloaded the driver for the printer and fax, but the scanner is not working, I can't find how to make it work

I just called Canon. They said they don't have the scanner driver for Windows 7 x64. It is in development, but could not give me a time frame when it would be done. They suggested checking back on their website periodically.

Vista 64 bit os will not install my canon mf3200 printer

Most of the software nowadays are only works for 32Bit operating system, you could try to check the availability of 64bit driver of your Printer from the manufacturer's web site.

Scanner

You need to uninstall the existing driver first and reboot the computer then try downloading the vista driver and install it back that should take care of the issue.

Vista and Canon MF8180C

Hi,
I hope u have tried the latest drivers from website

1. http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0900807801.html  --> for drivers

2. http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0900648901.html  --> for Toolbox

IF the printer is not getting recognised then also.. check ur connections... and see the trouble devices in the device manager and uninstall them (Those devices with a yellow question mark)
