Front 4 usb ports and microphone and headphone jacks don't work but the rear usb and speaker jacks do work. I've had the computer new since 2009 and they have never worked.

it sounds to me like the wires from the front panel connectors are not connected to the motherboard inside the computer case, open the case up find the front connectors wires inside and find out if there are any connectors on the motherboard to plug them into.
the reason the rear ones work is because they are soldered directly to the motherboard.
good luck.

I have properly connected a steaming ROKU unit at the HDMI 2, plug on the back of my TC-42PX14 Panasonic TV, and it works great, the sound is coming from the TV's speakers. My question is: how do I ho

you may be required to connect in an amp of some sort like a surround sound unit..these come with at least 3 channels center, front(left right) rear(left right)there is also a bass connector for a boombox

No sound from headphones. Speakers work. Win7

Please clarify, Where is the Headphones connected? Front or back? if you tried it on the Front port without success, Plug in the speaker jack to the port where you did connect the Headphone and verify it's working or not. You can also try the headphone on the port where the speaker is connected.

Awaiting.

Speaker Trouble

you must configure your notebook to works with it.
enter in the sound configuration (Control panel->sound)
there you will see speaker setup below, click advanced and choose the right configuration for your sound system. default will be two speakers or headset speaker.

also check if you dont need to configure the software that comes with your sound board, sometimes you must configure it manually.

also check the sound board manual and recheck cable connections, sometimes you must configure sound board connectors via software to work with more than 2 speakers.

hope it helps.

No surround sound

It sounds like the speaker wires are mixed up or maybe a setting on the reciever is wrong. Verify your speakers are properly connected. you test speakers using a 9 volt battery or smaller.
