Question about Hotpoint FFA70 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
RED DEFROST WARNING LIGHT IS ON
I had this problem and it was fixed relatively easily. Get everything out of your fridge freezer and switch it off overnight to allow it to defrost.
In the bottom freezer compartment there is a panel behind the draws which you can remove but you will need a special tool from a DIY shop. Its like an allen key, but with a star shaped end.
When I got the panel off I found that the filament was covered thick with ice even though it had been off for hours. No wonder it wasn't working properly. I melted this with a hairdryer. You want to take your time with this as you could easily damage the freezer if you try chipping the ice out.
Freezer works perfectly now and is very quiet.

The freezer requires defrosting, stacked with ice.
However I can't seem to defrost independent of the fridge.
Also impossible for me to get behind the fridge to unplug everything. I have no user manual and badly need tp defrost my freezer!
