Question about Canon ImageRUNNER 3235 Black and White Copier

2 Answers

The Canon iR3235-N printer has an IP connection to the network and we can print from our LAN devices to the printer. It is also connected to an IBM z/OS mainframe. We can send print to the printer but get the following messages: Paper is out. ! Load A4 into Drawer 4 Paper is out or the loaded paper size is different from the specified paper size. !Load A3 into Drawer 1. When loading paper, make sure to check the paper size also. The user states the correct paper size has been loaded in the drawers. We also download the Canon PCL for A4 paper and have verified that the PCL is correct with a packet trace. The customer will not contact Canon support. Any ideas where our problem may lie?

My canon iR3235 photocopier machine track paper once after removing the paper it still says 'The paper has jammed' and didn't copy yet.
After two hours it began to copy and then stop and return to former state.

HPlaserjet 2600n without IP

INSTALLING A NETWORK PRINTER These instructions generally apply to all network printers with built-in network cards (print servers) such as HP LaserJet printers, IBM Infoprint laser printers etc. This example is for a network HP LaserJet printer. To install a HP printer (with built-in Jetdirect print server) as a network printer on a wireless network . You need to do the following -
1. Open the printer\'s menu and enable the Network Card - these print servers use a static IP address therefore, configure the IP address of the network card so it matches the IP range of your network. Eg. If your IP\'s are 192.168.0.xxx then set the network card to a high number say 100. (This is to prevent a conflict with the router issuing the same IP address to a computer on your network). Then set the Subnet Mask IP address to 255.255.255.0 If you have a wireless router then check the IP address range that the router issues to the computers on your network and configure the static IP address in the printer\'s network configuration accordingly.
2. Install the HP printer driver on your computer/s using the LPT printer port.
3. Connect the printer with a LAN cable to the network hub/router.
4. Click on Printers and Faxes - right click on the HP printer and click on Properties.
5. Click on Ports and click on Add Port.
6. In available ports - click on Standard TCP/IP Port and then Configure port.
7. Tick the IP box and type in the IP address of the HP\'s printer IP address.
8. Click OK and tick Enable bi-directional support and then OK
9. Remove the printer cable, then do a test print to see if the printer prints correctly.
Install the HP printer driver on every computer on your network and configure the printer\'s TCP/IP port as previously detailed. Do a test print page to check the printer.
You can now print from any computer on your network.

I cannot figure out how to get this printer (Canon imageRUNNER 3235) to join a wifi network so we can wirelessly print from multiple computers.

Is this a wireless device? According to the Canon specs it's wired LAN only http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Work/Products/Office_Print_Copy_Solutions/Office_Black_White/iR3235/index.asp?specs=1 You could either use a wireless bridge to connect it to your wireless network or hard wire it to your switch/router by a CAT5 cable

How to connect my printer to a router

This model Canon printer has onlt an USB connection to a computer.
The only way to connect this printer to a router is to install a printer server with an USB connector, connect the printer to the print server and then connect the print server to the router using a LAN cable.
The printer driver needs to be installed on all the computers on your network and then to the printer properties then Port tab and add a TCP/IP port then configure this port with the print server's IP address.
Do a test print and if the test print is OK then printer is installed correctly.

Wireless printing does not work

For an effective wireless connection, the printer should be connected to one of the LAN ports of a configured wireless router. This way, every pc(mostly laptops with wireless capability) can print to the printer. You will need a wireless adapter for desktop pcs to access any resource made available wirelessly ok. Good luck

Netgear FWG114P Print Sever not functioning on upper level of LAN

if you set your dynalink's dhcp list up to a certain number (example: .1-.99). connect cat5 cable from dynalink lan port, into print server lan port. make sure print server can be setup as access point. if so, turn access point setting to on. make print server static ip address the next number outside of dhcp range (example: .100).

.100 ip address is the port number you should then be printing to, using a tcp/ip port.

if print server can be set up this way, then it now becomes wireless access point for all wireless devices. i am assuming, since you didn't mention it, that the dynalink is NOT wireless. if it is, the the print server just becomes another device on your existig network, taking the place of the network adapter the printer doesn't have. just set it up the same way you would set up another workstation on the network. except, make it static.
