Question about ASUS Eee PC 1000HE Netbook

1 Answer

Have used our ASUS netbook on many occasions in hotels and on cruise ship while traveling. Upon return from our last road trip, I can no longer access the internet at home. It says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." "Unable to connect to preferred wireless network" The network requires a network key (WEP or WPA) I have no idea what it is asking for. I never had to give any kind of "key" or password to access the internet before. There is a list of wireless providers (from various hotels, etc.) Do I need to somehow delete all those so my home provider comes up again? Appreciate some help. I am not technical at all. Thanks.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

What does a travel adapter do?

Travel adapters can be used on devices that are incompatible with the voltage levels of a household. Very often people use travel adapters when on holiday so they can use their electrical appliances in other countries.

I bought a watch from Norwegian cruise ship on Christmas day, but it didn't work properly. What am I suppose to do, can I still return it or where do I send it to be repaired? Thank you! Jessie

You should not have to fix a neew watch!

I think your first action should be to contact the shipping line or travel agent and complain.

You should be able to have a refund; any company worth of its salt should replace or refund without any hesitation.

Hi, when driving along on a road trip I would like to know what cool, odd places there are nearby and other attractions around. Is there any app that can deliver that kind of service?

Roadside America' is a great resource in general for this purpose. That iPhone app lets you find these places while you're on the road. It costs $2.99. Here you can find even more info: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/mobile/

Or

Pay nothing , il pay shipping and post it me

Seriously , if your thinking of smashing it id appreciate the spare parts for my business

How to use cruise control

Here are the steps in using cruise control:

  1. Get on a road you will be traveling at the same speed for a long period of time, such as a freeway.
  2. Reach your desired speed. Choose a speed that allows you to move with the flow of traffic and not go over or under the designated speed limit for that road.
  3. Locate the ON and SET buttons on your steering wheel. Press ON first and SET after. Your cruise control is now activated. Most vehicles must be traveling at least 30 miles per hour to set the cruise control.
  4. Press and hold the SET button if you wish to use cruise control at a higher speed. Hold until your desired speed is reached.
  5. Decrease speed by pressing the COAST button.
  6. Push the brake pedal to disengage the cruise control function. If you wish to return to the previous set speed, use the RES (resume) button. You must be traveling at least 30 miles per hour for this function to resume.
  7. Erase any previous speed by pressing the OFF button.

I am looking to buy a laptop or notebook - mostly just for email & internet while i travel and stay at hotels & such with family.... what can i expect to pay and what is the most economical way to...

if you are not going to use the cd/dvd rom then get a netbook, if not, any laptop would do as long as you are comfortable with it.

in my opinion, i would get a core 2 duo. (atleast 2.0)

2gb ram

hard disk size is up to you. since your just gonna be using it for email and so.

but if you go for a net book, any is fine, all are the same, most have the same price. normal price for it as of now is $299, i found an asus one that is only $249. if ever you find a win 7 starter operating system of the netbook then even better. but xp is fine.

Connection using ethnernet cable

Connect Ethernet cable into your LAN port.
Your PC shaould be able to see the connection (righ click on Systray LAN ICON, check status ) eventually try REPAIR.
Check the Gateway address.
Be sure to use DHCP to obtain IP address.
If you can Ping the gateway but cannot browse Internet, ask hotel desk if they need to activate your connection (sometime a fee is charged).
Let me know if you need more detail.
