Question about Panasonic KX-T7730 Corded Phone

3 Answers

I have a panasonic kx-t7730 multi line phone and one of our lines (the corresponding 'co' button accidently had the line tel. number deleted out) and in our manual, i can not locate anything about how to program the co button with the extension tel. number. The manual with this system is very difficult to understand; I am aware that it is an old system; but it works fine. I just need to get this button re programed asap.

Hi; thanks for your response; however; i still can't get a dial tone; which we had before the line info was erroneously cleared out. we have 3 outgoing lines (incoming as well with dial tones) I can get the tel number in it now; but no dial tone. this is such a confusing phone! any other suggestions?

  • cheryl hudson Oct 19, 2010

unless, I am not understanding the keys you are telling me to press to do this; it isn't working. I got the tel number in (I think). Maybe I need to clear that 'co" key out and start over again; but since I have no idea what to do with this system; i can't figure out how to do this either. if you have insight on clearing the old info that we have been trying and trying to get this key working again; maybe your info will work. This is so frustrating; I can't believe how complicated this phone is!

I rec'd two replies; neither of them worked to fix this issue. The phone is Panasonic KX-T7730.
somehow we lost the use of one of the CO buttons which was an outside line in/out of our medical office. (it is our 3rd line). We still have all three lines on the rest of the phone bases. I can not get the 3rd line CO button to go to a dial tone. I rec'd two options; neither are working.
    HELP!

this is the same info you gave me before and it is not working; lets see if i got it right:
    press the program button
    press 99
    press the CO button
press 2 then put in tel number; press the dial/store; then press program
is this right? if so, this is what i have tried several times. doesn't work on this system

Locate the program and auto-store button on your telephone. You will be using these to customize many of the features on your KX-T7730. The program button is used to enter or exit programming.
Program your flexible CO buttons. These are the inner row of 12 lighted buttons. Your outside lines need to be programmed to these--you can choose any of these 12 buttons in any order. Press "Program" "CO Button" "0" "Outside Line Number" "Store." The outside line number will be a single or double-digit number that is set through your phone system

Program any other unused flexible CO buttons for an extension number or any frequently dialed phone number. Press "Program" "CO button" "1" "Extension Number" "Store" or "Program" "CO Button" "2" "9 Phone Number" "Store". A "9" must be entered at the beginning of a phone number to tell your phone system to seize an outside line before dialing, e.g., "9-1-212-555-1234."

The 7700 series phones are probably post 2000, so how is that old? I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, but try this. Press PROGRAM the button and dial 0+1-8 STORE if it's missing a C.O. or 1+1xx STORE if it's an extension. Both of those buttons require a lit button, so pick one on the left.

If it's something else, try commenting with your model number of the phone SYSTEM.

The point is you have made 3 posts and STILL NOT ANSWERED THE QUESTION ASKED!!!

But, never mind that. Press PROGRAM, the line 3 button and dial 03 STORE.

    How simple is that?

Panasonic KX-T7730, we have a 824 phone system and cordless handsets (kx-tg1711) we cannot make outgoing calls on these handests but can take incoming calls and can transfer calls. how do we programme

  • Locate the program and auto-store button on your telephone. You will be using these to customize many of the features on your KX-T7730. The program button is used to enter or exit programming.

  • 2

Program your outgoing line preference, i.e., the line you prefer to seize when you go off hook. Press "Program" "1" "1" "store" for no line. Press "Program" "1" "2" "Store" for an idle outside line. Press "Program" "1" "3" "Outside Line Number" "Store" for an assigned outside line. The outside line number will be a single or double-digit number that is set through your phone system.

  • 3

Program your incoming line preference, i.e., the line you prefer to answer when you go off hook. Press "Program" "2" "1 "Store" for no line. Press "Program "2" "2" "Store" for ringing line. Press "Program" "3" "Outside Line Number" "Store" for an assigned outside line.

  • 4

Program your flexible CO buttons. These are the inner row of 12 lighted buttons. Your outside lines need to be programmed to these--you can choose any of these 12 buttons in any order. Press "Program" "CO Button" "0" "Outside Line Number" "Store." The outside line number will be a single or double-digit number that is set through your phone system.

  • 5

Program any other unused flexible CO buttons for an extension number or any frequently dialed phone number. Press "Program" "CO button" "1" "Extension Number" "Store" or "Program" "CO Button" "2" "9 + Phone Number" "Store". A "9" must be entered at the beginning of a phone number to tell your phone system to seize an outside line before dialing, e.g., "9-1-212-555-1234."

  • 6

Locate the programmable feature buttons (the row of 12 solid buttons on the right). These buttons are basically one-touch buttons that can be set for extension numbers or phone numbers. Press "Program" "(PF) Button" "Extension Number" "Store" or "Program" "(PF) Button" "9 + Phone Number" "Store." Remember to press "Program" again to exit programming.

  • 7

Locate your "FWD/DND" button. This button is used for setting "Call Forward" or "Do Not Disturb" on your telephone. To set call forwarding, go "off-hook" either by lifting the receiver or pressing speakerphone. Make sure you go to intercom and not an outside line. To forward all calls, go off-hook, press "FWD/DND" "1" "extension number" (the extension number that you wish to forward all your calls to) "#". After you hear a confirmation tone, place the receiver on-hook. The steps to set call forwarding for busy/no answer are the same as above, except you will press "2" in place of "1". To cancel call forwarding, press "0" in place of "1".

  • 8

Program "Do Not Disturb," which stops your phone from ringing--any callers will just hear a DND tone. To program, go off-hook, press "Program" "4" "#" on-hook, to set. Press "0" instead of "4" to cancel.

  • 9

Locate the message button--this works in coordination with your message light at the top right of your telephone. If the light is lit, press "message" to hear a message left to you either by another extension or a voice mail system. The message button can only be programmed as a message or one-touch button. To program as a message, press "Program" "Message" "3" "Store." To program as a one-touch, press "Program" "Message" "1" "Extension Number" or "Program" "Message: "2" "9 + phone number."

  • 10

Return your KX-T7730 to its default settings by pressing "Program" "#" "*" "Store."

My KX-T7730 can't display, no tone.

KX-T7730 Phone must be connected with a 4wire line cord. you may be tested it with a 2 wire line connector.because other normal phones only needed 2wire line cords.Just connect a new 4w cord to under socket located to main unit & other end connect directly to the tel;system & see is the phone confirmed OK.
& let me know .Good luck.

    Outside Line Button.

I doubt you would be looking to "delete" the number. Instead you need to program that button to be a line button again and that will in effect delete the quick-dial you programmed. I'm not sure which phone system you have your phone connected to (you could have one of several different Panasonic systems) but programming the button for a line should be somewhat similar to programming it for speed-dial.

Does the manual you have cover any other programming options for buttons?

It's a long shot but some systems I am familiar with you can just push the same button again instead of the number. So for example if this was the line3 button, program similarly as you did before but at the step where you dialed the number, just press the line3 button.

If you're still stuck, let me know which Panasonic phone systm you have so I can look up more detail (the system is not a phone)
