Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have had my Easynote TJ65 for almost a year now, and it has always had the same problem, the trackpad! It got so bad i had to disable all the touchpad gestures! it seems far too sensitive! I slide my finger over the track pad and the cursor on the screen is all over the place, just now i tried moving the cursor down to open a window and it kept shooting back to the top of the screen once i'd let go and re touched the touchpad. Its really irritating, is there anything i can do to solve this or is it a fault within the laptop? please help!

Hi had the exact same problem with my TJ65.
It seems that the problem is caused by the ALPS drivers.
I downloaded and installed a driver for synaptics touchpad and it worked like charm (you you actually have to use a different manufacturers driver for it to work).
You can get it from here:
Good luck!

When I type words slip out of the sentence and attach to other parts of the sentence, out of context and I have to cut and paste that part back in

What you will likely find is that the bottoms of your hands are touching the trackpad causing the cursor to jump around, this is very common with laptops. You can often disable the trackpad if you will be typing for a while or if you use an external mouse. Most Toshiba laptops have a "hotkey" to disable the trackpad temporarily. The ones I have seen are usually on F9, so you hold down the "Fn" key (bottom left side next to Cntrl), then press F9. This is a toggle and will enable and disable the trackpad. I almost always use a mouse with my laptops just for this reason. Some laptops, (usually HP) will have an actual button near the trackpad that will disable it temporarily for extended typing.

The trick is often to just learn how to type without letting the bottoms of your hands touch the pad, and you will find this issue disappears.

Any way of turning on a PB easynote TJ65 when the power button is broken?

You can remove the bezel and use a penhead to the button. Or maybe find the bezel online to replace your broken one.

How i can findout mac address for my packard bell easynote tj65? and how i can connect to the belkin router?

The MAC id is often on a sticker on the bottom. If not you can access it through control panel. What version of windows are you running?

Most versions you can click Start, then Run, and in the box type ipconfig/all

Packard bell easy note tj65 will not power up

the short cable running from the power button to the main board has probably snapped where it passes over the RH hinge. remove the screen surround to gain access to the power on switch area and check. it would seem to be a common fault with the packard bell

Syn pad has stopped working. Easynote SB88-P007

Try holding "Fn" (function) and then tap "F9" (key on the top row).

That disables/enables most Toshiba trackpads.

Failing that, go to then into support, choose your laptop, etc etc, and download the trackpad utility (if it's not already installed)

I think Toshiba use Synaptics trackpads... so look for that in your start-programs first. You can disable and enable it through there, but it's more likely someone accidentally Fn+F9 'd it in the first place! =-]
