Try to plug it to another USB port on the computer and then turn the camera on and set it to play mode. Also, try to restart the computer and then try plugging it again.

Check your memory card is installed in the camera take the camera usb cable connect the smaller plug end into your usb camera port, connect the other end (the larger of the two ) into the usb port on side of your computer Turn computer on wait for computer to boot up . then turn your camera on your pc will recognise the device you have connected (the camera) it will then give you options as to where on your computer you want it copied to keep it simple opt for my pictures or a similar file that's easy to access, you can also choose to copy and keep the original images on the cameras memory card or remove them automaticly after copying has finished, input your options and click on copy When the computer indicates the task has finished turn your camera off and unplug the leads

Computer not recognising camera

You could try another USB port. I've had USB ports get loosened up on me without me realizing it. If nothing else has changed, I'd suggest trying to connect with a different USB port, OR swapping out your camera connection cable. The cable might be bad, usually from being pulled on so much.

Aiptek camera transfer to cumputer

Using the PC Camera Function
1. Installing the AF Cam driver
You need to install the AF Cam driver before using PC Camera
or video conferencing function.
* If you have already installed the AF Cam driver, skip step 1. "Installing the AF Cam driver" and go to step 2. "Connecting your camera to your computer".

2. Connecting your camera to your computer
2.1 Turn on your computer
2.2 Set Mode dial on your camera to 528dc6d.png
2.3 Insert the USB cable to the USB port on your computer
2.4 Insert the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on your camera.

* Then you can see the camera as removable disk. You can transfer the pictures from your camera to your computer like transfering files from one folder to another.

1. Go to camera folder
2. Select the file/pictures you want to transfer then right click and choose move option (if you want the files to be moved on your computer) then choose the desired target folder or drive.

*you can just copy the files form the camera to your computer too.
select the files that you want to copy then right click, choose copy then paste on the desired folder or drive.

Canon 450D is not being recognised by my computer (I run xp 32-bit). When I turn on the camera, windows comes up with a "install new hardware" option. I have installed the EOS utility etc. but still the...

Both the Canon XT 350D and the XTi 400D are recognized by any PC with XP windows operative system. It seems you have to check your USB port or USB cable used to connect your cameras to the PC. Sometimes, the PC does not recognize a specific device connected to an USB port. Yopu can get into the System -device manager screen, and uninstall the USB port, and run the utility to recognize changes in the device manager. This will install the USB port driver again, and if it is a software issue the reason of the problem, then it will be fixed.

Also, you can check your cameras and USB cable in a different PC so you can confirm if they both work has should be.

Wont connect from lg pc suite

Happened to me a few times. Try restarting your computer but leaving it plugged in so your computer already recognises what it is.

If you plug it in your computer takes 10 minutes or so figuring out what it is and whether you need to download anything additional for it to work. If you restart your computer by the time you click LG PC Suite it will have already recognised what it is and will work. If your computer has wireless settings you could try connection through bluetooth!

My computer wont recognise my FinePix A610 camera

Suggest that you go tp my computer as the answer above has suggested and attempt to open drive(memory chip) in the camera and download. If not suggest removing the memory chip from the camera and try accessing via Walmart or other stores photo Kiosk.

Suggest opening Fin-pix first before connecting camera.

Through fine-pix search for camera as if it was an external drive. Hope this helps?

More upload problems

Hi,

Most if not all digital cameras would be read as an "external mass storage device". Based on your description, it is possible that it is the USB port of the PC that has an issue and not the camera. A couple of things that you can try:
  • verify that the PC's USB ports work by plugging in other USB devices such as a printer, flashdrive, MP3 player;
  • try the Vivitar in another PC;
  • double click on "My Computer". The camera would show as another drive, perhaps an "E";
  • rollback your USB drivers;
  • uninstall latest Microsoft updates (USB);
  • update your USB drivers not with Microsoft but with the motherboard's manufacturer's website;
  • try the digicam's memory card in a memory card reader.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I had this same problem, I'm using Vista on my HP laptop and I managed to correct it. Apparently HP like to customize Vista and when connecting some USB device's they don't recognise them as what they should. A USB mass storage device. You will need to connect the camera to the computer, the camera will come on then click the ok button so it selects PC. Wait until it finishes its search click cancel and open device manager, scroll down and below Network Adaptors you should see an expandable tree with an yellow exclamation mark named Portable Device's --> FE-280/X820/C520 you will need to right click on the FE-280/X820/C520 icon and select "Update driver software". Then select "Browse my computer for driver software" then select "Let me pick from a list of device driver's on my computer" Scroll down till you see "Universal serial bus controllers" then select "USB Mass storage device" in the next window. It should all work fine now! If it still doesn't work try selecting "Portable devices" then select "WPD File system device" --> "Microsoft WPD filesystem Volume Driver".
Hope it helps.

Cheers, Mick
