Denon DVD-1740 component video to RGB cable

Hi!

I have recently bought a Denon DVD-1740. The same component video to RGB cable that works from my Sony DVD player to my projector does not work on the Denon. Do you know if the Denon uses different pinouts for component to RGB? Or any other ideas?

Thanks and regards

Errol

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT CABLES FOR THIS INSTALL, GREEN, RED, BLUE FOR COMPENENT VIDEO AND RED AND WHITE FOR AUDIO UNLESS USING THE OPTIACL OR COAXIAL, FROM THE DVD PLAYER TO THE AMP OR TV.
ON THE FRONT OF THE DVD PLAYER IS A HDMI BUTTON PRESS THIS BUTTON UNTILL OFF IS DISPLAYED AND YOU SHOULD HAVE PICTURE

I have a Denon AVR 1707 reciever. I am trying to connect my dvd player through RGB cables. The sound works just fine when i turn the reciever to dvd but there is no video. I have the component 2 set to dvd...

The video cables--the green, blue, and red ones must be connected from the video OUT portion of the DVD player to the Component 2 video IN of the Denon. It could be the handshake between your Denon and your television. Do you have anything else to connect to the Denon to see if you get a picture? How are you connecting the Denon to the television? Make sure you have your television on the proper input and check the cables going between it and the Denon.

Hooking up my Sony HD Tv

Couple of items come to mind.
In the menu of the receiver, is there a way to choose video and RGB?
Set the receiver to SAT
Connect the HD Cable Box to SAT
Check the TV is on Monitor RGB.
Check the input being used by the monitor RGB cables is selected on the TV.
Have a picture? NO, receiver has issues.
Yes? Do this with each input to confirm they work.
You can reset the whole receiver to factory by holding the tone button down and holding the standby button for three seconds. (This clears your speaker setups, too.)

Hi
The settings on many DVD players and TVs may need to be set to indicate the type of input/output being used(RGB vs YUV/YPbPr, and if set wrong the image may not be properly displayed. Try Look for such settings in your TV and/or Amp!

Good luck

Hello I need firmware for denon 1740 Dvd. Cant not faind self.Thx

Go to the Denon Global Website and select Europe, once on the Europe site go to downloads the 1740 will show up in the model drop down menu. You'll need the unit Serial Number, good luck on that, I couldn't find one anywhere on my unit.

Next step? Buy a Sony.

No video

The Denon does not down scale you can not plug a DVD or other device in to the Denon using HDMI and have it come out Component, if your projector only has Component video inputs you must use Component video connections from the DVD and Cable box to the Denon

Try to set your video output settings on your dvd player . I assume you used to connect to your old tv by using svideo and now you are using another connection like component, scart or hdmi.If the video output setttings on your dvd are still on svideo you will have to set it to rgb or component or else you will get black and white images..

Pink tint when usig the RGB component cable

Check the green signal lead - if one of the RGB leads doesn't make good contact, the picture will take on an odd tint that doesn't always look like it's missing one of those colours. For some reason, the green is always the most common one to fail.
