SOURCE: No sound from front panel of GIGABYTE GA-MA69G-S3H

Aloke,
It does mention in your manual (top of pg. 28 -notes), that in order to use the HD Front Panel Audio connector the pin configuration are different than the AC97 connections. Your current case is set up for AC97. You will have to contact Mfg. for the case click the link for Gladiator support:
http://www.a-top.com/jsp/info.jsp?number=3

You can try this, open up your control panel, look for an icon that's named Sound Effects Manager. Open it. Click speaker configuration.
This is part of Realtec's software. This is where you can setup & check both front & back ports (Audio & Mic).
If this part of Realtec did not install goto Gigabyte & down load your audio software & re-install it. (Just a suggestion).

Hope this helps. If you make the call it will be a fix.
Good luck.

SOURCE: need motherboard manual for a gigabyt GA-8SIMLNF

I set up this same mobo after my old one died and this was all I had. The manuals are fine except they have more pins than my mobo. Mine only has 9 pins, 4 at the top and 5 on the bottom. I got it to power on with the POWER SW on the top right hand 2 pins, positive to LHS I think. It doesn't matter if they're around the opposite way as it won't damage the board. The bottom left hand 2 pins are your HDD LED and the next 2 pins are your RESET SW. These pins are positive to RHS. The bottom 5th pin on the far right is not used. I tried all combinations on the 2 top left hand pins for the PWR LED but got no result so just left them off. I tried a P4 3GHz but it would only turn on for about 5 seconds then shut off. Maybe the BIOS is set only to accept a Celeron CPU. A BIOS upgrade may be in order.

This definately sounds like a bad motherboard. I had a bad psu that was shutting down my system one time. I took it back and got a refund and got another one. Installed and never had the problem again. you said you already checked the psu so yeah thats what it sounds like.

There should be printer words on the motherboard next to the header. Use a magnify glass to look in and see. I will look for a diagram for you.

Ga 8simlnf ram upgrade

There is no motherboard with this model number. Can you recheck this by looking on the board itself. Its right in the middle of the board.

In general though, you can usually put 4GBs of Ram in the G8 series but only Vista and later Linux versions will actually report above 3GBs.

Please reply using the comment box below. Thanks.

Connecting hdd led lead and power led lead, where do they go ?

Hi, There are 3 versions of this motherboard; 1.0, 2.0 & 3.3, but the layout is identical. The general layout is shown in pins.jpg. For the power led, the white wire goes to the (-) terminal either pin 2 or 3, both are MPD- while the green goes to the ( ) or pin 1 (MPD ) as shown in powerled.jpg HDDpins.jpg shows the connection of HDD led, the white goes to pin 3 or HD- while the red goes to pin 1 or the HDD . I cropped these images from the manual which is also available at the gigabyte website. Hope this gives you some ideas and workout of you. Good luck and pls post again how things turn up. Kind regards.
