I dropped the Hard Drive on accident and it is no longer working. Is there a way to fix it? It is in one piece. I tried tapping it to make it work.

Hard drives do not like being dropped.
You and I cannot fix hard drives, they require special equipment.

Dropping a hard drive is never a good thing. They are very sensitive moving parts inside a hard drive and they don't take well to falls. It sounds to me like there was some damage when you dropped it and it may no longer work properly. The clicking is the hard drive trying to read the data and failing. You mentioned that it seemed to come back to life a couple of times...try and recover the data if you can, and contact Western Digital Tech support if you are still under warranty. Hope that helps!

The WDXU800BBRNN hard drive clicks about 15 seconds when plugged into a computer and is not recognized by the computer. This is a Western Digital 80 GB external hard drive.

Sounds like either the drive was accidently dropped while running and is damaged, has damaged circuitry, the hard drive has otherwise crashed, ...best case scenario, is that you have it plugged into a USB port that it doesn't 'like'. Try unplugging and plugging into another USB port on the computer and see if your problem goes away.
Best of luck! Hope this helps!

I dropped my Ps3 accidently, and now it's behaving

if it does not read games anymore ( like if you insert a cd and it doesn't start working ) that means that the hard drive ( the part that reads the game discs ) is broken , why : because when you dropped your ps3 the head of the actuator arm scrached the platter ( the platter is sensitive , even a tiny scratch will stop the hard drive from working ) , so the solution is to change the hard drive , i hope i helped .

Dropped hard drive

It is broken - you may be able to reformat it and use it, but I'm afraid that without significant amount of work, your data is gone.

i guess you need to chalk this one down to experience... your data was all backed up, right?

My MV800 ejects with message "remove the cassette". I have tried both old tapes and brand new one but same message.

I READ THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM THIS MORNING ON THIS WEBSITE, BUT I CAN NO LONGER FIND IT.

THE SOLUTION SUGGESTED DROPPING THE CAMERA ON TO A CARPETED FLOOR FROM HALF A METRE HIGH AS A FIX.

THERE WAS ALSO A POSTING FROM A GUY WHO HAD FOLLOWED THIS ADVICE AND IT FIXED HIS CAMERA.

SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW SUIT AND I DROPPED THE CAMERA ON TO A CARPETTED FLOOR FROM HALF A METRE HIGH AND WHEN I TRIED IT WITH THE TAPE IT WORKED, NO JOKE, THIS IS AN HONEST AND TRUTHFUL REPORT.

Dropped my drive...

ok....if there is a clicking sound that usually means the hard drive is failing...if this is the case you need to find a data recovery expert....now the casing and hard drive are separate pieces of hardware so if there is a problem with accessing the data but no audible clicking my advice is to head to your nearest computer shop (an independant and helpful one if possible) and ask them to try your hard drive in a new casing....if that works you only need to pay for the new casing.....there is a piece of software that can fix bad sectors of your hard drive without loss of data but it does require the PC to be able to access the disk

My Phlips external hard drive was dropped by accident. There is now a clicking sound, and No access to folders on drive

Clicking sound is not good, it usually means the sensitive disks are no longer in alignment or are damaged. I'm afraid you will have to replace it.
