Question about HP Printers & Copiers

4 Answers

I have a HP PSC 1610 All in one, Registered 06/10/2005. I was transferring photo's from my digital camera to the computer. When I finished I clicked the safely remove icon, and when prompted disconnected. Now the orange exclamation light continually flashes and I get a message "remove and check colour cartridge". I have changed cartridges and it has not rectified, and I cannot use any of the functions

This is a little bit complicated issue, first we need to know whether the issue is with the color cartridge or the all-in-one. Once remove the cartridges from the all-in-one and clean the copper contacts of the cartridges with a soft cotton cloth and then insert only the black cartridge in the all-in-one and check for the message displayed on the all-in-one, if it reads insert color cartridge then remove the black cartridge and insert only the color cartridge and check for the message. If it reads any other message except insert color cartridge then the issue might be with the color cartridge, once check the expiry date of the cartridge and if possible replace the color cartridge and then check for the result else we need to perform 10-tap test and 22-tap test to know whether the issue is with the color cartridge or the all-in-one.

Help on HP PSC 1610

Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doen't work with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie HP 1610) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Hope that helps.

HP PSC 1610 All-In-One - Memory card Error

Pulling out the card without using the 'Safely remove Hardware feature' risks corrupting data on the card. Reformat the card in the camera. Also with compact flash it is a simple matter to wreck the some of the tiny pins in the card slot. Check out both these and come back
