I understand completely. Eventually everyone will be running Vista, so support will increase with time when more people move to it. I can navigate through XP easier, but I'm sure an Experienced Vista user can do the same. Good luck on which ever you decide!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Installing a driver for a BJC-85 on a Dell Laptop running Windows 7 32 bit

There is no Windows 7 driver planned as this printer is obsolete on the cannon website.
It does not even support windows XP or Vista, only up to Windows 2000.

Apple Extreme Network not picked up by Windows XP laptop.

it's a matter of who did what with whom and when they did it.

Vista came along when Apple and Microsoft had agreed to allow each other OS's to operate in each other's platforms with Intel performing the Core Duo marriage, but XP is the child from a previous generation when the two did not get along, though they knew of each other.

I know some actual marriages like that.

Didn't mean to be flippant, but XP is better than Vista in some respects and worse in this case.

My toshiba laptop wont start

you could download windows off the internet. But with labtops you might have a hard time finding the drivers for it. Especially since you can't just open it up and figure out what kind of components it has. If it's really old you might be lucky and windows might have the drivers. Particularly windows vista. The newer the OS the more drivers it has.

Updating Quickbooks on Vista OS

There are a couple of things going on here.
First, and most important, Qb 2005 was not designed to run on Vista. Vista was barley even in the planning stages when 2005 was programmed. Vista will probably run it, but in a compatability mode ( pretending to be an older version of Windows), but updating the program will be nightmarish at best because the updates are pointing to files that are either 1) no longer used by Windows or 2) the versions and functionality of the files has changed.
My best advice- restore the backup on an XP box, or get a later version of QuickBooks that will run on Vista.

Maybe your problem is the vista is not really compatible in your laptop. There is a brand or type of processor that vista not really work well that's why some of my customer want to re install the windows xp to his new laptop to solve or to avoid some error occurs.
