Dear Sir or Madam:
Our refrigerator was purchased in 2006. The modle number is JFC2089HES. Recently the temperature in the top two shelfs become warm. the display shows 62 C. However, the hole in the rear back behind the drawer has cold air coming out. So the bottom shelf is cold. This situation has been two weeks already. Now I transfer most food to anther refrigerator. This refrigerator is almost empty. But it is still warm. I was wondering the cold air should go down and hot air should go up. So how the cold air coming out of bottom shelf go to top shelf. I can't find any opening in the top shelf. Can you please provide some advice for this problem. Thanks!

    Hi again,

In your particular model I believe it is termed as "MaxCool". It is also possible that the sensor for the refrigerator is covered by a food item and therefore was getting erroneous readings hence cutting off early (making the temp go higher than normal). Based on this, you can try switching the food items around relocating them as to how they were placed inside. Incidentally, frequent opening and closing of the refrigerator of course would be exposing the inside to warmer air making the unit work harder.

The reset requires that the unit be unplug for an hour or more hence my suggestion during the Live Session to make use of a second refrigerator while checking out the Jenn Air.

Can you place the unit into Turbo Cool? once it reaches 34 degrees it will reset to 40.

This can happen if you've recently added a lot of food lately, such as for a party. The energy saving nature of the unit cannot cope with the influx of a lot of food food from the grocery store all at once.

If that doesn't do it, stick around and someone will be along to help you.

Kind regards,
Worldvet

Hi, my Jenn-Air #JF12089AEPO bottom freezer drawer is beeping consistently and the temperature reading shows 18 degrees Freezer Max Temp. There is also a dry frosty crust on most of my frozen foods. How...

Make sure the freezer drawer and the refrigerator door are shutting properly. Sounds like air is getting in causing the frosty crust. Also be sure to reset the controls back to the original mid-way settings and allow a day or so for it to balance, if you have turned the fresh food compartment down to a lower temp it may cause a similar condition.

Can't change temperature

If the freezer is staying cold it sounds like a defrost system problem. A bad timer, heater or thermostat can cause frost to build up on the coils and block air flow to the refrig side. Check out ACMEHowTo.com for troubleshooting the defroster problem
