First time we got the code, the machine would not continue to operate, even after multiple attempts. Had to disconnect the hose between the tub and pump and found it to be the wire from an under-wire bra that was stuck in there. How it got in there, who knows, but if it's strong enough to stop the pump in the washer, women should rest assured it's probably more than strong enough to accomplish its intended task.

The error code means Long Drain. Check and see if the drain hose is too high, kinked or blocked.

The pump may also have something in it causing it not to pump.

What about if I get the code once and a while? I can get a cycle out of the washer then the next time I get the Long Drain code.

  • Anonymous Nov 08, 2010

I would check the pump and hose just in case something is in it .

The pump on those washers are not very strong starting so they can be stuck easily . Check the clean out as it may have more in it.

Opps no clean out on that modal My bad!

Washer stops between wash and rinse, and stays full of water. ld code

see this steps and fix it. God bless you

Lid Switch Assembly

If the washer stops mid cycle the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly

Water Inlet Valve

If the washer stops mid cycle the water inlet valve cold water side may have failed. Most washers have a cold water rinse and so if they can't fill with cold water they just sit indefinitely waiting for the cold water to enter. If there is cold water to the water inlet valve and the cold water works in other parts of the cycle - or to make warm water - the valve is not the problem.

Main Control Board

If the washer stops mid-cycle the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other causes first such as the lid or door switch and other components.

Stops mid cycle and the 400 and 0 spin lights flash

According to the service manual ( which you can download ) it is the fault code 05 which means NTC failure. This is the water temperature sensor.

My washer stops in the middle of the cycle what does this mean Flashes LD Error

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error Ld means long drain and it flashes when the water level will not change even after the drain pump is on. To resolve this issue you’ll need to check the drain hose and the drain pump for any blockages. Also check if the pump is running fine. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

LD stands for long drain, you probably have a bad pump or the pump is clogged with lint etc.
