I lost the bios password for my Benq joybook 5000.

For that you need to reset factory defaults settings for bios.
For reset bios u have to open back side of your laptop then u find motherbord circuit there.
pull cmos cell on motherbord for 15 minute then it reset to defaults.
Also u can reset with jumper settigns read carefully on mother bord there is 1 jumper near cmos cell u read there " bios reset or clear"
It is on 1-2 position right now set it in 2-3 position then power up then all bios settings are reset.
then again set it in 1-2 its original position.
Then it not want password.

Constant Restart Loop

tap F8 when booting up and choose the last known good configuration before having him open it up. This should solve the problem. How old is the computer?

Please remember to rate me.

yeah, i'd be willing to bet that you're right - it's a BIOS issue. you can try flashing your BIOS with the version on the manufacturer web site but honestly i'm not sure if that would help ya.

I have a BENQ JoyBook Lite U101. For serveral days I had my monitor output connected to a HP L1706 monitor. Yesterday I tried to connect my video output in our boardroom - however the output from the...

It sounds like the video card could not handle the monitor in the board room - As it is unless you have a graphics based laptop you rarely get a high quality video card built into your laptop.

Causes aside boot your computer in safe mode - This is done by tapping F8 several times during startup

A menu should pop up - select boot in safe mode

A long list of text will pass in front of the monitor - Do not fret this is just Windows telling you what it is loading.

Once at your desktop you should be able to see everything clearly

Right click on your desktop

Goto Properties

Settings

Drag the Screen Resolution down to something more appropriate e.g. 1024 x 768

Onscreen volume display not showing up naymore

Try this out:

Click the Start button on Windows Taskbar located at the bottom
side of the screen and then select Programs, Hot Key Manager,
Configuration from the menus that appear.

To enable onscreen volume control message,
check the Show volume controls onscreen checkbox.

This is the recipe for the 2000-model, but I believe it should be the same for the 5000.

The manual for the 5000 can be found here: http://support.benq.com/files/Joybook/Manual/5000_English.pdf
